Hebrews 4:11-13 God's Word: Produces faith, cleanses us, brings reconciliation, tells us how to be saved, blesses us, answers life's questions, solves life's problems, helps us weather life's storms, tells us what is right and wrong, produces fruit in our lives, will judge us.

Hebrews 11:1-6. The Importance of faith.
I. FAITH IS VERY IMPORTANT - ABOVE ALL
II. FAITH IS AVAILABLE - TAKING
III. FAITH IS A PROTECTION - THE SHIELD OF FAITH
IV. FAITH IS POWERFUL - WITH WHICH YOU SHALL BE ABLE TO QUENCH
V. FAITH IS EXTENSIVE - ALL THE FIERY DARTS OF THE WICKED ONE
James 2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
Tomorrow we are starting a new series of study:
“The New Man” is a seminar that will focus on the spirit of man, its soul and its body.
We will learn the properties of each one of these three parts of man.
Our spirit is called to be the ruling part of us, actually, our spirit is the main part of our being, and is the place where the spirit of God dwells in.
We meet in Room #3 at CTF Toronto Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. I invite you to come and participate with us in this discovery of how to let our spirit become the ruler of our life.
John 3:1-5. A New Life In Christ. In the new life we have been born again. In the new life we are a new creation. In the new life we crucify the flesh with its passions and desires. In the new life we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. In the new life we are renewed by the Holy Spirit. In the new life we are dead to sin but alive to God. In the new life we are washed from our sins. in the new life we put to death the old man and put on the new man. In the new life we died and our life is hidden with Christ in God. In the new life we were brought back from death in sin.
“What Will You Reap?" - [We Reap What We Sow] - (Luke 8:5-15; 2 Cor 9:6; Gal 6:7-9) - We Are All Sowing – but to what end? The principle of reaping according to what we have sown is as old as creation & applies in both the material & spiritual realm. Becoming A Servant of the Most High GodAlbert Kang
From the life of Moses, we are able to glean spiritual truths and principles that will help us to grow to become true servants of the Most High God. From a self-sufficient man, Moses became a trusted servant of God. Being humbled for 40 years, he was able to stand before the highest ruler of Egypt and made demands that few mortals dared to utter.
I Timothy 4:6-10. GREAT PRINCIPLES OF CHRISTIANITY.
I. CHRISTIANITY IS THE GREATEST INVESTMENT IN THIS LIFE AND FOR ALL ETERNITY
II. CHRISTIANITY IS THE GREATEST INSURANCE TO BE HAD ON EARTH
III. CHRISTIANITY IS THE GREATEST INSULATION AGAINST SIN, CRIME AND EVIL
IV. CHRISTIANITY IS THE GREATEST INDOCTRINATION AGAINST SIN, ERROR AND FAILURE.
Hebrews 4:11-16. Let us: Use our gifts. Walk properly. Not judge one another. Pursue peace and edification. Not commit sexual immorality. Not tempt Christ. Take heed. cleanse ourselves. Walk in the Spirit. Not become conceited. Not grow weary. Do Good. Press toward the goal. Not sleep but watch and be sober. Not love in word or tongue but in deed and truth. Love one another. Be glad and rejoice and give him glory.
Ephesians 3:14-21 God's blessings, He settled may largest debt - sacrifice, he satisfied my deepest need - forgiveness, he provided my greatest desire - guidance, he prepared my highest longing - heaven.
God gave us His Word for a purpose. God wants us to be with Him in heaven. To do this we must change from serving Satan to serving God. God gave His Word so we would know how to live our lives. God gave His Word so we would change.
Isaiah 9:6-7 His name will be called or He would be known as counselor. He is a counselor who understands your struggles. He is a counselor who cares for you. He is a counselor who is committed to you.

Numbers 6:23-27 "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: {24} "The LORD bless you and keep you; {25} The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; {26} The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.'" {27} "So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them." Known as the priestly blessing or the Aaronic Benediction. Is this the way we should bless our enemies as Jesus instructed in Matthew 5:43-45
Genesis 47:13-15 Now there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very severe, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan languished because of the famine. 14 And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought; and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh's house. 15 So when the money failed in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came to Joseph and said, "Give us bread, for why should we die in your presence? For the money has failed." There are a number of reasons that money fails.
I beseech you – beg, urge, encourage, appeal
By the mercies of God – compassion
Present your bodies a living sacrifice – as opposed to a sacrifice of death
Holy, Acceptable to God – pure, without spot or blemish
Your reasonable service – since Christ died for us we should live our lives for him. 2 Corinthians 5:15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
John 3:16 is the most quoted and most remembered scripture from the bible.
Did you know that there are a number of other 3:16 verses that relate to and are very important to our spiritual lives and our living for Jesus?
Tonight we are going to look at some of those 3:16 scriptures.
Philippians 1:9-11 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Fear is common to all. We all fear something. Some fear is God given. Children come into this world with a fear of heights and of loud noises. Some fears are there to protect us from physical harm: snakes, darkness, suffocation, being burned, death, etc. In christians, most fear is a tool of satan
Brotherly love has amazed many people throughout the centuries. Love of the brethren is commanded by God. Brotherly love mus be worked at to achieve. problems in the church are either directly or indirectly connected to lack of love for one another. love is the key to a growing or even a surviving church.
Jesus makes it very clear that we need to forgive others in order to be forgiven ourselves by God. Forgiveness is a key to having successful relationships. we will look at nine roadblocks to forgiveness from the book, "From Anger to Intimacy"
in Galatians chapter 3 Paul contrasts salvation under the Law of Moses with the salvation we have through Jesus. Galatians 3:22-29 is full of truths regarding our true position as sons of our loving Father. We will look at 8 things which our faith in Christ will cause us to become.
We are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works. We are blessed for doing God's work. We are to speak and do. Faith without works is dead. Faith is shown by our works.
Jonah is a book about god's desire to save the lost and man's role in that. there are some great lessons taught in the book of Jonah. We will look at questions Jonah was asked in the book and ask those questions of ourselves.
we all need motivation at times. what motivates you? Paul said 5 things to the brethren at Rome to motivate them to continue their service no matter how great the suffering became. the good always outweighs the bad. the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. God's providence works for us. Judgment is on our behalf. the love of God is on our behalf.
Repentance is a change in your allegiance, your expectations, your values, your priorities, your mission and your morals. can you say there has been a change in your life since you met the Lord?
Isaiah 9:6-7 Jesus would be called or known as wonderful. Wonderful in His birth. Wonderful in His miracles. Wonderful in His teachings. Wonderful in His resistance to sin. Wonderful in His accomplishing His work. Wonderful in His fulfilling prophecies. Wonderful in His sacrifice. Wonderful in His resurrection. Wonderful is His Name.
Isaiah 9:6-7 Jesus would be called or known as Mighty God. Prophecies said he would be God. John said He was Creator and God. Jesus claimed to be God. Thomas said He was God. Paul said He was Creator. Paul called Him God. John said Jesus was the True God.
I John 2:28-3:3 Tests for Christians. Do you abide in Christ? Do you practice righteousness? Who knows you? Are you a child of God? Are you pure, just as He is pure? What is your identity?
I John 4:1-6 tests for christians 3 - the test of false teaching. Bluffing your way. Do you confess the Son? Do you listen to the Son? Do you obey the Son? Do you pass the test?
Ephesians 3:14-21 How big is your God? The ability of my God is boundless. The ability of my God goes beyond my prayers. The ability of my God is beyond my ability to imagine. The ability of my God is manifested in the lives of His people. The ability of my God is seen through His glorious church. The ability of my God is eternal.
The resurrection of jesus is a prevarication (spoken against), a plethora (great number) of witnesses, a proven fact, a purpose to save us. a plea to live worthy, a pattern for us to follow, a power from God, a promise for us, to believe in, a pledge by our savior.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
2. Hebrews 4:11-13 Let us therefore be
diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall
according to the same example of
disobedience. 12 For the word of God is
living and powerful, and sharper than any
two-edged sword, piercing even to the
division of soul and spirit, and of joints
and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And
there is no creature hidden from His
sight, but all things are naked and open
to the eyes of Him to whom we must give
account.
3. GOD’S WORD
A.God has a purpose for everything He
does.
B.Why do you think God gave us His
Word.
C.There are many reasons for God giving
us His Word.
D.We want to examine some of them this
morning.
4. I.GOD’S WORD PRODUCES FAITH.
A.Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by
hearing, and hearing by the word of
God.
B.1 Peter 2:2-3 as newborn babes,
desire the pure milk of the word, that
you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you
have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
5. II. GOD’S WORD CLEANSES US
A. Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your
wives, just as Christ also loved the church
and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might
sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of
water by the word, 27 that He might present
her to Himself a glorious church, not having
spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that
she should be holy and without blemish.
B. 1 Timothy 4:4-5 For every creature of God is
good, and nothing is to be refused if it is
received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is
sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
6. III. GOD’S WORD BRINGS
RECONCILIATION.
A. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 Now all things are of
God, who has reconciled us to Himself
through Jesus Christ, and has given us the
ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God
was in Christ reconciling the world to
Himself, not imputing their trespasses to
them, and has committed to us the word of
reconciliation.
B. Acts 6:7 Then the word of God spread, and
the number of the disciples multiplied greatly
in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests
were obedient to the faith.
7. IV. GOD’S WORD TELLS US
HOW TO BE SAVED.
A. It ultimately doesn’t matter what any professor,
religious leader, parent or grandparent says…God
is the only One who does the saving and so He is
the only One who gets to tell us how that
happens. And He has done that for us in His Word
- Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will
be saved; but he who does not believe will be
condemned.
B. The Bible teaches us how to have a relationship
with God, how to pray, how to be a genuine
Christian - Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says
to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of
heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in
heaven.
8. V. GOD’S WORD WILL BLESS US.
A.Luke 11:27-28 And it happened, as He
spoke these things, that a certain woman
from the crowd raised her voice and said
to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore
You, and the breasts which nursed You!"
28 But He said, "More than that, blessed
are those who hear the word of God and
keep it!"
B.John 13:17 If you know these things,
blessed are you if you do them.
9. VI. GOD’S WORD ANSWERS
LIFE’S QUESTIONS.
A. Where did we come from?
B. Why are we here?
C. What is our purpose?
D. Lots of people have lots of interesting ideas
about these areas, but our Creator knows us
better than we know ourselves - Psalm 33:13-
15 The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all
the sons of men. 14 From the place of His
dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants of
the earth; 15 He fashions their hearts
individually; He considers all their works.
10. VI. GOD’S WORD ANSWERS
LIFE’S QUESTIONS.
E. Any who seek answers to life’s questions
will be satisfied if they turn to the Bible -
2 Peter 1:3 as His divine power has given
to us all things that pertain to life and
godliness, through the knowledge of Him
who called us by glory and virtue,
11. VII. GOD’S WORD SOLVES
LIFE’S PROBLEMS.
A. 2 Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied to you
in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
3 as His divine power has given to us all things
that pertain to life and godliness, through the
knowledge of Him who called us by glory and
virtue, 4 by which have been given to us
exceedingly great and precious promises, that
through these you may be partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in
the world through lust.
B. 1 Timothy 4:8-9 For bodily exercise profits a little,
but godliness is profitable for all things, having
promise of the life that now is and of that which is
to come. 9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of
all acceptance.
12. VIII. GOD’S WORD HELPS US
WEATHER THE STORMS.
A.It will arm us for spiritual battle Ephesians 6:10-
17 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the
power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts
of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take
up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth,
having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and
having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel
of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with
which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
13. VIII. GOD’S WORD HELPS US
WEATHER THE STORMS.
B.It will comfort us when distraught - Psalm
119:107 I am afflicted very much; Revive
me, O LORD, according to Your word.
C.It will help us remain faithful till death -
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the
confession of our hope without wavering,
for He who promised is faithful.
14. IX. GOD’S WORD TELLS US WHAT
IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG.
A. Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter by the narrow gate;
for wide is the gate and broad is the way that
leads to destruction, and there are many who
go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and
difficult is the way which leads to life, and
there are few who find it.
B. John 8:31-32 Then Jesus said to those Jews
who believed Him, "If you abide in My word,
you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall
know the truth, and the truth shall make you
free.“
15. X. THE WORD PRODUCES FRUIT
IN OUR LIVES
A.Mark 4:20 But these are the ones sown on good
ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear
fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a
hundred."
B.2 Peter 1:5-9 But also for this very reason, giving all
diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control
perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to
godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly
kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and
abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who
lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness,
and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old
sins.
16. XI. GOD’S WORD WILL JUDGE US.
A.John 12:48 “He who rejects Me, and does
not receive My words, has that which
judges him—the word that I have spoken
will judge him in the last day”.
B.Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead,
small and great, standing before God, and
books were opened. And another book
was opened, which is the Book of Life.
And the dead were judged according to
their works, by the things which were
written in the books.
17. WHAT ABOUT YOU?
A.IS GOD’S WORD WORKING IN YOU?
B.1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this reason
we also thank God without ceasing,
because when you received the word
of God which you heard from us, you
welcomed it not as the word of men,
but as it is in truth, the word of God,
which also effectively works in you
who believe.
