Distribution companies are responsible for marketing and distributing films. They work to get films viewed by audiences through theatrical releases and other commercial rights like DVDs and television. Blockbuster distribution companies mainly handle large franchise films from major studios like Disney, Warner Bros., and Universal. Independent distribution companies focus on smaller, non-blockbuster films and work with independent producers and studios. Vertical Entertainment and Blumhouse Productions would be good fits to distribute an independent product as they have experience with similar films in the past.

an audience. ... For commercial projects, film distribution is usually
accompanied by film promotion.When a film is initially produced, a
feature film is often shown to audiences in a movie theater.
The distributor has activities which may be organised on the different
markets of the commercial rights of films (theatrical cinemas, video on
DVDs, video on the internet, television, international sales).The exhibitor
presents the film to the audience while the distributor manages the
commercial rights, in accordance with a contract signed with the
producer.

• I believe that the distribution companiesVertical entertainment
and Blumhouse Productions would distribute my product as they
have both distributed Movies (Get out and Ratter) so therefore it
would please the same targeted audience when released. I don’t
think any Blockbuster distribution company would distribute my
product as those companies like to input their own intentions and
ideas into the movies.

as their preference when choosing which movie
