2. Our group have learnt a number of new skills
with technology during the process of
making our opening film. We have used
software programs that were new to us and
online websites which helped us explore and
express our research, thoughts and ideas. In
my opinion, this has helped us create an
effective film opening that suits our
psychological thriller genre.

3. MAHARA
Towards the beginning of our
media lessons, we were
introduced to Mahara.
This helped us be more organized
with how we present the process
of completing our final piece. This
website was really useful and was
really easy for us students to use
which therefore made it easier for
us to get our idea across to our
audience.

4. FINAL CUT PRO X
Final Cut Pro is a software on the Mac
that was used to edit our film
opening. This was crucial in
organizing our clips and putting them
together and successfully adding in
effects that we wanted to have in it.
The editing software was quite
difficult to use however, we started to
get the hang of it over time and
managed to produce a final piece.

5. YOUTUBE
YouTube was useful in areas of
research and when carrying out
tasks to further out our knowledge.
This was a great platform in helping
our group, as well as individuals, in
developing our ideas, creativity and
overall understanding.
This is also where have uploaded
our evidence of work as well as
Mahara.

6. PREZI
This presentation software allows us to
create a creatively designed presentation
that is professional and fun. We used this
to put together our pitch and also
individually create a presentation to show
our progress through tasks.

7. PICSART –IPHONE APP
To create our company ident, we decided to
edit it on an editing iPhone application called
‘PicsArt’. The reason for this was that it was
easier to use than other editing software’s
such as Photoshop which we weren't too
comfortable with and also took into
consideration the amount of time we had
which was not a lot.

8. FREE SOUND
Free Sound was a website we used to find
our background music for our film. This was
to avoid copyright. There were many sounds
available to choose from however, it took us
a while to find the one we thought best
suited our type of film.

9. CANON LEGRIA HFR56
This was the digital camera we used to film our
clips. It was important that we used a HD camera
as it makes a big difference to the quality of the
piece when uploading it to the Mac and we
begin to edit.
As well as this, we also used a tripod keeping the
overall balance of the camera which helped
make our footage steady which means that there
were no shakiness to it creating a perfect shot.

10. MAC
Here you see our team using the
Macs and completing our tasks
on Mahara. This is the form of
technology we used when we
were not filming.
