1 Cor 1:17-18 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Act 20:35 "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Tit 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
We can use the power of the blood of Jesus for our benefit. Claiming His blood daily, builds up a shield of protection around you, your household and your ministry.
Have you heard someone telling you to forget about your past?
You tried and still, memories take you there? Only the blood of Jesus can clean your conscience and your memories.

“Holding Out Hope AGAINST God’s Word” — (Hebrews 6:13-20) — It is foolish to base our hope on something God HAS NOT said, and even more foolish to hope God will do something different from what He has said! Why then will so many do so? – AUDIO / PPT / KEYNOTE / PDF — 9/3/2017
Evangelism? It is to present Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit to sinful people, in order that they may come to put their trust in Christ. Is communicating the gospel of Jesus Christ.
People need to hear the essential elements of the Gospel in order to be saved. They will not be saved by hearing your testimony but by the truth of the Gospel. Declare the complete message of redemption for forgiveness and eternal life thru Jesus.
Rom. 5:1-2 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God.
Rev. 19:1-6 After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for his judgments are true and just; he has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and he has avenged on her the blood of his servants." Once more they cried, "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever." And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who is seated on the throne, saying, "Amen. Hallelujah!" And from the throne came a voice crying, "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great." Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty thunderpeals, crying, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.

A study of who Jesus is according to the Old Testament and the New Testament. His life on this earth was short even though His goal was monumental, to seek and save that which was lost. He accomplished His goal by paying the price for our sins which we as sinners could not pay. Take a little time to learn about our Savior and Friend, Jesus Christ.
Question: Where is the Mansion Jesus is Building?
Answer: In My Father’s House.
Question: Who is the Father? Answer: God!

These slides are intended to explain Christmas to those who may be unfamiliar, such as international students. The perspective is from the Bible. Good for presentations.
1Cor 1:10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
A lesson about Jesus as the Faithful Witness based on Jesus coming here in the flesh and experiencing what we experience in the weakness of the flesh yet not committing any sins. Scriptures noting His resurrection as proof of everything He said to be true. Scriptures that express what He will use as the standard of judgment of all accountable people.
Mt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mk 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Act 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Mt 13:15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.'
Rom 8:5-8 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Rom 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Heb 2:3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.
Jn 12:42-43 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Col 3:1-2 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Mt 17:20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
The task of leadership is not to put greatness into people, but to elicit it, for the greatness is there already!” – John Buchan

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
3. What Does It Mean to
Preach Jesus?
1 Cor 2:1-2 And I, brethren, when I
came to you, did not come with
excellence of speech or of wisdom
declaring to you the testimony of
God. For I determined not to know
anything among you except Jesus
Christ and Him crucified.
4.
5. What does it mean to preach Jesus?
▪ In 2000 V.P. Black preached a sermon at the
FSOP lectureships with this title, from 2000
following their lectures have been titled “do you
understand?”
▸Now my lesson is much different than his, but
this is a great question!
▪ Some will say, “give me the Man, but not the
plan!” or “I want to hear about the love of God
and not the law of God!”
▸Can it really be one without the other? Or do
these rather go hand & hand together?
6. Was Paul an educated man?
(1 Cor. 2:1-2)
▪ Could speak multiple languages!
(Act. 22:1-2)
▪ Born & raise in a place of learning!
(Act. 22:3)
▪ Brought up at the feet of Gamaliel!
(Act. 22:3 cf. 5:34 “doctor of the law”)
▪ He was a Pharisee! (Act. 26:1-5; Phil 3:5)
▪ Yet, there was something far more important
than all of this!
7. Paul felt very strongly about
preaching Jesus!
(Rom. 1:13-17)
▪ So, what does it mean then to preach
Christ? This is such an important question!
▪ 1 Cor 15:3-4 For I delivered to you first of
all that which I also received: that Christ
died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, and that He was buried, and
that He rose again the third day according
to the Scriptures.
8. I. Preaching the Counsel!
▪ It doesn’t help to know the Man, if we are
unwilling to trust His plan!
▸2 Th 1:7-8 and to give you who are troubled
rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed
from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming
fire taking vengeance on those who do not
know God, and on those who do not obey the
gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
▸Heb 5:9 And having been perfected, He
became the author of eternal salvation to all
who obey Him.
9. Faith + Obedience = Salvation!
▪ Js 2:21-24 Was not Abraham our father
justified by works when he offered Isaac his son
on the altar? Do you see that faith was working
together with his works, and by works faith was
made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled
which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was
accounted to him for righteousness." And he was
called the friend of God. You see then that a man
is justified by works, and not by faith only.
▪ We do not work to achieve, we work because
we believe!
10. The whole counsel of truth!
Act 20:26-27 “Therefore I testify to you this day
that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I
have not shunned to declare to you the whole
counsel of God.”
▪ As the old saying goes “a half truth is a whole
lie!”
▸Ask Pharaoh & Abimeleck! (Gen. 12 & 20)
▪ Ps. 119:160 “The sum of your word is truth, and
every one of your righteous rules endures
forever.”
▸“Teaching them to observe all things I have
commanded you” (Mt. 28:20)
11. II. Preaching the Character!
▪ There have been many throughout history and
even today that believe the God of the Old
Testament is different than the God of the New
Testament!
▸Old = Hate and horror
▸New = Love and laughter
▪ Has God’s character changed? This is an
important question!
▸One thought to keep in mind is this, “if He has
changed over time, who is to say He will not
change again?”
12. God is unchanging!
▪ Num 23:19 “God is not a man, that He
should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should
repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or
has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”
▪ Mal 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I do not
change; Therefore you are not consumed, O
sons of Jacob.”
▪ Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect
gift is from above, and comes down from the
Father of lights, with whom there is no variation
or shadow of turning.
13. The Same Every Day!
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday,
today, and forever.
▪ This is why it is important to know and
understand both the New & Old Testaments!
▸Rom 15:4 For whatever things were written
before were written for our learning, that we
through the patience and comfort of the
Scriptures might have hope.
▪ If God was faithful in the past, we will be in
the present!
14. III. Preaching the Church!
Mt 16:18 "And I also say to you that you are Peter,
and on this rock I will build My church, and the
gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
▪ When we preach Jesus, we preach the church that
belongs to Christ!
▪ There are many man made churches, but only one
blood bought church!
▸Ac 20:28 “Therefore take heed to yourselves and
to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has
made you overseers, to shepherd the church of
God which He purchased with His own blood.”
15. One body = one church!
Eph 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just
as you were called in one hope of your calling.
▪ Eph 1:22-23 And He put all things under His feet,
and gave Him to be head over all things to the
church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who
fills all in all.
▪ Col 1:18, 24 And He is the head of the body, the
church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the
dead, that in all things He may have the
preeminence. I now rejoice in my sufferings for you,
and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions
of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the
church.
16. Conclusion:
▪ What does it mean to preach Jesus?
▸It means we preach, the counsel, the character
and the church!
▪ Are you a member of the New Testament church,
that Jesus built and bought?
▪ If not, then today is the day to obey His plan and
be placed by Him into His church!
▸Act 2:47 praising God and having favor with all
the people. And the Lord added to the church
daily those who were being saved.
▸Act 4:42 ...that day about three thousand souls
were added to them.
