Dioxins are chemical compounds produced by combustion processes involving chlorine. They are found in incineration, manufacturing chlorinated chemicals like PVC, and other chlorine-using processes like paper bleaching. Dioxins can cause reproductive, developmental, and health issues like cancer and interfere with hormones. Animal products are a major source of dioxin exposure for humans. Reducing consumption of fatty animal products and having a balanced diet can help prevent overexposure to dioxins, which are very persistent environmental pollutants.
Pollution is caused by big companies producing highly toxic materials derived from oil during manufacturing. This leads to consequences like thousands of animal deaths, global warming, holes in the ozone layer, food contamination, trash mountains, and deforestation. To avoid pollution, we must plant more trees, create better materials than plastic, avoid fuel, separate recyclables from non-recyclables, and not burn trash.
