Welcome to ECO Rent-A-Car (ECO) is an organization providing cars for
individual transportation needs while “helping the environment one mile at
a time”. ™ ECO as an organization is establishing its core or center of
operations and practices in a comprehensive effort of active sustainability.
Our challenge to ourselves is What can we do, what is our approach, how
can we as an organization and or each one of us as an individual in the
organization make differences in our work effort and how we live our lives
to ensure multiple future generations will enjoy all best and beautiful
elements of our planet.
Our efforts at ECO are sincere and pragmatic with each step that we as an
organization and individuals who are associated with ECO journey in this
car rental endeavor. From ECO’s inception it was clear that our efforts not be
a surface treatment to achieve green. That is why our efforts are shades of
blue, green, and red. Green is often the color attributed to environmental
efforts yet our paradigm shift is blue represents the environmental aspect of
sustainability, while green represents the economical responsible element of
sustainability. Red then represents the social responsible facet of
sustainability in some ways a parity of the rose colored classes idiom
attributed to idealist in the social work of improving people’s lives.
Comprehensive, collaborative, defining, real, sincere, authentic,
stewardship… are some of the words that represent the foundation,
framework, and intent that ECO has for daily actions to ignite a
transformative effort for a healthy long lasting organization and the Los
Angeles area as a community. Our view is a shared effort in partnership
with customers, immediate surroundings of neighbors, blocks, bergs, the city
of Los Angeles, the county of Los Angeles and the region of Southern
California.
Our Facebook page was launched to initiate and share a wide variety of
information to demonstrate our interest in providing information,
inspiration, and evidence of efforts to encourage the efforts that we all can
make in the decisions we make and the products that we support by the
purchases that we make.
We are about cars, transportation, liberty of access, stewardship of resources
both personal financial and natural resources necessary for us to enjoy life.
The efforts of our work can provide us with the means for economic support
in the environment and the social aspects in the community. Our work is to
continuously find ways to reduce the carbon emissions produced by cars
while ensuring people have the ability to drive where they need to, when
they need to without any impedance. Renting cars has a cost financially yet
our business practices are transparent; not bait and switch, no high season,
weekend, or holiday rate variables. Our rates are competitive and our respect
for your time and personal space is another aspect of living out the values
that we hope to represent in all the efforts of our organization.
As ECO continues operations each day our desire is to provide valuable
information, help increase peoples understanding of a complete holistic
systematic approach to the efforts of sustainability through environmental,
social, and economic justice. In the days ahead we will at our best begin the
process of clarifying the statements that we make by defining in writing
through our blogs and Facebook. We seek to provide a variety of informative
tools from; written works, quotes, visual aids, photos, peoples efforts, peoples
stories, action that deserve recognition, ideas worth consideration, and
clarification through balanced and definitive information.
We desire to dialog in a manner of hope, support and encouragement. Assist
in educating and learning as those that desire to walk along in this effort in
their unique manner can benefit from our work and we benefit from theirs.
At first this effort might seem like basic information for some people
initially. At the risk of boring or losing people we hope to establish a base
foundation of understanding designed to ensure that we have a clearer sense
of our vantage points that lead to perspectives and perceptions. Our efforts
are to value “both” not “either or”. We are not focused on who is right and
who is wrong but what needs to happen to repair and restore the damage
done to others, the environment, or the economy. Our efforts are not about
talking heads of speaking but communication accompanied by daily action
of hands, feet, heart and mind in the activities that we live out in our daily
lives.
A friend who has continued to inspire me wrote “Hope is the union of a
vision with the capacity to realize it”. She went on to write yet (there is one
word changed which is italicized in the quote) paraphrase “it makes sense
to cultivate hope in people for themselves and for the world around them.
What would be the point of being educated for a future for which we have
no hope.” Forward for the book Education for a Sustainable Future
