1. Home
Home- a simple word, one that each of us as a
person has used, thought of in our minds, felt
about in our hearts, and/or possibly longed for
in our souls. Mention the word “home” and it
can have a variety of definitions, feelings, and
reactions. Defining home can be very difficult
and subjective.
Wikipedia provides a collective insight:
“A home is a dwelling-place used as a
permanent or semi-permanent
residence for an individual, family,
household or several families in a tribe.
It is often a house, apartment, or other
building, or alternatively a mobile
home, houseboat, yurt or any other
portable shelter. Larger groups may live in a nursing home, children's home, convent or
any similar institution. A homestead also includes agricultural land and facilities for
domesticated animals. Where more secure dwellings are not available, people may live
in the informal and sometimes illegal shacks found in slums and shanty towns. More
generally, "home" may be considered to be a geographic area, such as a town, village,
suburb, city, or country.”

“A home is generally a place that is close to the heart of the owner, and can become a
prized possession. It has been argued that psychologically "The strongest sense of home
commonly coincides geographically with a dwelling. Usually the sense of home
attenuates as one moves away from that point, but it does not do so in a fixed or regular
way." Since it can be said that humans are generally creatures of habit, the state of a
person's home has been known to physiologically influence their behavior, emotions,
and overall mental health. People may become homesick when they leave their home
over an extended period of time. Places like homes can trigger self-reflection, thoughts
about who someone is or used to be or who they might become. These types of
reflections also occur in places where there is a collective historical identity, such as
Gettysburg or Ground Zero.
Popular sayings include "a man's home is his castle", "there is no place like home",
"home sweet home", "to be at home", "home from home", "make yourself at home",
"you can never go home again", “Home is where the heart is”, and "home is where you
hang your hat".
2. ECO hopes that we can collectively take the beautify aspects of
how we think or reflect on the aspect or idea of home and
consider this as our home- Earth. This is a broader thought of
home yet the homes that we have and the ideals about home
all exist because we all live here on this planet. Defining home
as the place that we live, we breathe, provides water, supplies
us with food, and enables us to exists is the foundational form
of home. We share our home with 7 billon people, a wide
array of plants, animals, insects, and microorganisms. Our own
personal interaction with our planets beauty and wonder
provides us with an added sense of awe in our lives. Looking at
earth as our home is the first defining paradigm that we hope
we all can anchor and build on the aspect of sustainability from
our collect understanding of home as defined as Earth. May this framework of our home be
“home is where our heart is”!

93 Million Miles Lyrics by Jason Mraz
93 million miles from the Sun People get ready, get ready, 'Cause here it comes
it's a light
A beautiful light Over the horizon in to your eyes
Oh, my, my How beautiful Oh my beautiful
mother She told me
"Son in life you're gonna go far And if you do it
right You'll love where you are
Just know that wherever you go You can always come home"
Ohhohhohh Ohhohhohh
240 thousand miles from the Moon You've come a long
way to belong here, To share this view of the night A
glorious night Over the horizon is another bright sky.
Oh, my, my How beautiful Oh my irrefutable father He
told me
"Son sometimes it may seem dark But the absence of the light is a necessary part
4. Just know, that you’re never alone You can always come back home"
Ohhohhohh Ohhohhohh
You can always come backback
Every road is a slippery slope There is always a hand that you can hold on to. Looking deeper
through the telescope You can see that your homes inside of you.
Just know, that wherever you go Oh no you're never alone You will always get back home
Ohhohhohh Ohhohhohh Ohhohh
