Why

to begin processing the upcoming year’s transactions
 Its key purpose is to clear down existing Year-to-Date figures in the sub-ledgers and then post
forward relevant Balance Sheet figures in the General Ledger
 It also ensures processes are carried out that reconcile your sub-ledger and general ledger
information
Before the end
Post all transactions for each ledger related to the year being closed
Ensure ALL other GP users are logged out of the Company
Create your new Financial Year in GP
Take a backup of your Company database

Editor's Notes

  • #3 Before we begin, I would like to review a few simple housekeeping items:   We expect the webinar to last approximately 35-40 minutes Please note that the presentation is being recorded and will be available to view on demand. All participants are set to listen-only audio mode and will remain so for the duration of the webinar. If you have a question, click the “Question” button on the right hand side of your screen. In the new pane that opens, type your question in the top box and click Ask Do feel free to submit your questions at any point during the presentation and we will answer each one at the end.
  • #11 Copy in your account manager if you have one. When the webinar closes – a survey will pop up containing a few questions. It would be really helpful if you could spare 2 minutes to answer these.
