21. Questions
1) How much is the vRack?
The vRack is a free service and it is compatible with the following services:
- Dedicated Servers: HG, Hosting, Infrastructure and Storage ranges
- Dedicated Cloud
2) How many VLANs is it possible to connect to the same server?
It is possible to deploy up to 4000 private VLANs and to tag the traffic within the vRack.
3) Will it be possible to route IPv6 RIPE block to the vRack 3.0?
The vRack 3.0 is to be released soon. We will realease the IPv6 vRack specification in the following months.

22. Questions
4) You mentioned pfSense as a firewall, are there plans for a pfSense image so it doesn't have to be run in a VM?
pfSense is free to download here and you can upload it to the datastore. You can deploy the pfSense VM into a template.
5) On the slide 20 about the inter datacentre configuration, are the databases live-live, what is the recommended
setup on this?
The example here shows a standard database duplication, that can also be described as a master / slave configuration.
This duplication can be easily done through phpMyAdmin. Also the replication is done over the vRack network.
6) Will this webinar session be available for video download in the near future?
Yes, you can download the video thru the link in the post event email
22
23. Questions
6) Is a bastion setup recommended for communication in and out of the vrack?
The vRack is a private vLAN of your own. All the traffic that passes thru the vRack is private. On vRack 2.0 you can tag the
traffic on the vRack nobody expect you can see the logs. If you wish you can setup a bastion but it depends on your
infrastructure.
7) Can we set up a vRack between France and Canada?
Yes, the vRack allows you to set up a transversal VLAN with the Roubaix, Gravelines, Strasbourg (France) and
Beauharnois (Canada) datacentres.
8) Do I have to configure the two network cards myself when installing and configuring a new machine, or is this
done by OVH "vRack" services?
The network cards are already configured but you would need to define the IP address on the server vRack port.
23
24. Questions
9) Do we have any chance to have dedicated firewall on Dedicated Cloud?
It will be available in NSX on the new Dedicated platform soon.
10) If we wanted to access the vRack from our office network, I am assuming that we would need to set up our VPN
server on an OVH dedicated server. Or do you offer anything yourselves?
You can make use of the Dedicated Connect. However it links your infra from London Telehouse West to OVH rather than
your office directly. You can read some more information here.
11) What is the cost of a load balanced IP per month?
The Load balancing IP is from £8.49 / month. When you buy it it works by default on the primary datacentre. However you
can add other datacentre as needed (as an option).
