The natural and technological environment influences business operations in several ways. The natural environment provides raw materials and energy sources but also poses risks from factors like climate, earthquakes, and resource depletion. Technological developments determine a firm's success and competitive advantage. Innovation allows firms to gain an edge through new products, processes, and market expansion. However, first mover advantages in technology must be weighed against risks and costs of pioneering an innovation. Sources of technological change can be internal innovation or external factors like customer needs, competition, and government policy.
Renewable Energy Conference Center
After the Tsunami catastrophe and subsequent mothballing of all nuclear power plants the Japanese stance in terms of renewable energy completely changed. The long neglected segment became all for a sudden the center of interest.
However, “long neglected” also meant that information on what is available on renewable energy sources in the world market is only rudimentary. We want to close this gap with a mixed-purpose project with 10 (!) profit centers, a seminar and convention facility, and the potential to install a 10-15MW wind farm (up to 100MW in the vicinity) and large photovoltaic installations as well, taking advantage of the opportunities the world’s highest feed-in tariffs (FIT) for renewable energy offer.

Traditional operational and supply chain operations are often driven by speed, efficiency and cost reductions for large businesses to thrive on operations leverage. Products or services provided by suppliers and contract manufacturers are frequently normalized in prices and benchmarked against commodity prices. Sourcing/ purchasing functions often strive to engage and develop meaningful relationships with tried, tested and proven suppliers to meet the matching drivers of supply chain operations. Sourcing thrives on generating competitiveness amongst suppliers that enables the strategic negotiation of price- value reductions; the larger the pool of matching suppliers, the better the bargaining power of sourcing.

This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

The framework is mostly written in Java, with a Python binding so that Python developers can access PowSyBl functionalities as well.
