Adam Geisen - ET 506 - Lesson planning in the cloudAdam Geisen
The PowerPoint presentation that has been uploaded is the initial informational presentation at the beginning of my first segment of professional development. In this unit, learners will be exposed to online lesson planners and their potential for coordination, collaboration and organization as No Child Left Behind legislation requires us to hold to state and national standards. These online tools allow teachers to share information and keep students and parents up to date on what’s happening in the classroom. After this presentation (which is intended to last 25-35 minutes counting questions and in-depth explanation) participants will spend 20-30 minutes exploring each planning tool and using online resources to compare and evaluate. Participants will also be expected to contribute to the PD message board that has been set up for the experience (a link is included on the PowerPoint).

A quick guide to finding your way around the ECO NZ http://elearning.eco.org.nz website. This is a "Moodle" online learning environment. Moodle courses contain activities and resources which have been arranged into groups to help guide participants. These slides show you what the icons mean, and how to use the glossary of terms.
Wednesday 7 November at 11:00am - 12:00noon AEDT
Presented by Professor Ron Oliver, Professor of Interactive Multimedia, Edith Cowan University, Western Australia
This presentation will consider the conditions and affordances of e-learning that help to generate meaningful learning experiences. The presentation will showcase ways in which e-learning technologies have been used in the Flexible Learning Toolboxes to create effective opportunities for learning.
K-12 technology projects. Teaching ideas with project-based activities for Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Office 365 Online, and Adobe. Teacher resources for primary, elementary, middle school, and high school students. Detailed lesson plans.
These are the class preparation sheets for my EDP 370: Applied Child Development Course. This course is taught as a 'hacked' course. Lectures are prerecorded for students to listen to at home, we complete activities in-class. The culminating project is the Children's Thinking Project (adapted from Penelope Oldfather & West, 1999). Thus, we integrated a series of interviews from American Public Media: Dick Gordon's The Story radio program into the pedagogy for students to develop their interviewing skills.
Captivate CS3 and CS4 have a bug associated with the "Advanced Interaction" feature. This bug tracks the users progress and interactions even if tell Captivate not to track. This job aid describes how to resolve the problem.

This presentation describes some the basic functions of the new Blackboard 9.1 Learning Management System. The presentation will describe using the text editor, upload content using the new file management system, and creating/editing assessments. Basic web and instructional design are also covered in the presentation.
Thesys Case Study Summer 2010 Fairmont prep fullMichael Payne
This is a case study written on the learning outcomes of a hybrid summer program that Fairmont Private Schools ran in the summer of 2010. It shows that students learning outcomes had improved over the traditional bricks and mortar model of previous years.
Three Purposes of the Instructional Design ProcessMichael Payne
Three Purposes of the Instructional Design Process:
1. To identify the outcomes of the instruction
2. To guide the developing the instructional content (scope and sequence)
3. To establish how instructional effectiveness will be evaluated.
These maps are great ways to display information and organize your thoughts Use these graphic organizers anytime your are preparing to write an essay or organize your thoughts.
I am an Instructional Designer with over 10 years of experience developing blending learning, eLearning, and facilitator-led training courses for global and private companies, as well as educational clients.
This is a short best practices job aid for leveraging Blackboard v9.0/9.1 as a CMS for Aventa Learning and NROC/UCCP content. This sheet was handed out to parents and students prior to launching a hybrid summer school program in 2010.
This presentation describes how to load the UCCP content files into the Blackboard 9.1 Learning Management System. The presentation will describe how to upload content using the new file management system.
Fairmont Hybrid Summer Courses
Hybrid courses blend traditional classroom instruction with online learning activities. Students
maintain strong connections with their teachers and peers while also receiving more one-on-one
instruction from the teacher.
Imperialism is very similar to colonialism, with one major difference: colonial powers settle the countries of which they gain control, while imperial powers do not. The term “imperialism” does not seem to exist prior to the 1800s. Nineteenth-century imperialism was spurred in large part by the Industrial Revolution. The development of new industrial economies in the 1700s and 1800s necessitated the acquisition of raw materials and the desire to gain control of marketplaces; thus, by the mid-1800s, imperialistic actions of strong nations (most notably European nations) started to become policy.

Your science teacher has just asked you to solve some problems using dimensional analysis….OMG! What is dimensional analysis??
Don't sweat it! Dimensional Analysis (DA) is just a fancy term for converting one unit to another.
You use dimensional analysis in all the sciences from biology to chemistry and physics. You use DA anytime you need to convert one unit to another unit.
Just think "measurements need to have two parts - a number and a unit". For example, if you said "My heart beats 60" that would make no sense! Do you mean 60 beats per second or 60 beats per minute? At 60 beats per second you are probably in good health. But at 60 beats per minute, you could be a very sick person!
That's why measurements in science are composed of two parts - the quantity or numerical part and the dimension. The dimension can be time and distance, length, weight and mass, temperature, area, etc
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
