What is web 2.0?
 Web 2.0 is a term which refers to web
applications that facilitate interactive
information sharing and is a user-centered
design. It allows other users to interact with
each other and to change website content to
their choice and it contrasts with noninteractive
website where users have no control over the
content shown, and they are viewing the
media instead of manipulating it.

Flickr is an image hosting and video hosting website which was
created within 2004. It is a popular website for users to post
personal photos, and is used mostly by bloggers as a host
images which they embed on their blog.
The Verge reported that is had 87 million registered members in
2013.
It is a Web 2.0 application as it allows users to upload their own
personal photos of choice and upload them onto the website for
other users to see.
It impacts media audiences as it allows them to see personal
photos of individuals and they are able to filter content of the
type of photos they want to see by various other users.
It allows producers to see other peoples work and enables job
opportunities or recognition from bigger business as the website
is easily accessible by all media producers.

Wikipedia is a website which allows people to modify collaboratively of
it’s content and structure directly from the web browser. It allows users
to create pages on content of their choice and edit already existing
pages, the website normally presents ‘factual’ finding and are normally
not concerned with opinions.
It is a Web 2.0 application as it allows users to create their own page
following the criteria which is set out by Wikipedia for example the
layout cannot be altered but the content and text within can be. This
can be done by anyone and other users can find this information.
It impacts on media audiences as it allows them to find out information
within a quick and easy format, throughout my own experience wiki is
always the first website when searching for people or other things.
Although as it is user based it is not always reliable for the audience.
It has an impact on media producers as it means that audiences are
more likely going to go to wiki for answers rather than other platforms
or websites. But it does also mean that they can provide more trusted
websites for users to look as Wiki cannot be trusted.
Twitter
Twitter is an online social media network service which enables
user to send and read short 140 character messages. It allows
users to post and read tweets, pictures, they can also post
photos, video of their own and from other platforms and they
can also send direct messages to each other.
This is a Web 2.0 application as it allows user to follow and be
followed who they want and allows them to post videos, photos
and tweets of their choice which other users can see.
It impacts media audiences as it allows them to have access to
information, news and updates through a social platform. It
allows it to be more age appropriate for the audiences on
Twitter.
It impacts media producers through them having more platforms
to reach audiences through and present this media to various
audiences.

allows users to create a profile, add other users,
exchange messages, post status updates and photos
and videos.
It is a Web 2.0 application as it allows users to create
their own profile and post personal content of their
choice. They are able to modify who see’s what they

independent film companies this presents them with an
