Web 2.0 Collective Intelligence
What is Collective Intelligence? It is when groups of people or individuals collaborate to make forms of intelligence through contributing what they know. It is also referred to as Symbiotic Intelligence. It’s one of the largest distributed computing with over 3 million users.
Example of Collective Intelligence Ants are a good example of Collective Intelligence This is because they work hard together to carry out tasks i.e. ant hills The ants as individuals are useless but when they combine together they achieve more by working together
Clay Shirky Wrote a book called ‘Here Comes Everybody’ He describes group work using ladder imagery where the ladder rungs are shared by the groups of people in order to “reach the top”
Social Networking Sites Sites such as Myspace, Facebook and Twitter are made up of millions of users and who generate recognition and money for the owners. Social networking sites allow people worldwide with access to the internet to connect with others, be it friends or people they do not know.
Software Definition: the role that computer programs, documentation and procedures play in a computer system.  If it’s a shared software people can add to it and make it better with their own ideas.
Software Microsoft Word bring out a new version every year after taking onboard user opinions and try to improve the software annually. Other forms of software update and improve constantly and in the background such as Facebook. The developers constantly change the software.
The Impact on Modern Society Nowadays it is not only the educated who can share knowledge it is also now the ordinary person People can feel more involved Not only is it an advantage for people to share their knowledge but also an opportunity to connect with friends and people they have never met, the networking possiblities are huge.

Audience Francis Heylighen, cybernetics at the VrijeUniversiteitBrussel, sees the Internet and its users as a superorganism: "A society can be considered a multicellular organism, with individuals in the role of the cells. The network of communication channels that connect the individuals playing the role of the nervous system for this superorganism.
Conclusion the audience is primarily the collective intelligence line they formed
