Empowering The End User - The Future of IT Support, Developing a First Class ...RES
With the consumerisation of IT, the expectations and demands of the end user are rising. Users are demanding the functionality, autonomy and freedom to consume IT services that they have at home and IT departments are struggling to adapt. This presentation shows how an NHS hospital is using technology to empower and enable users to self-serve systems, services and processes.
We present how the typical model of delivering IT services can change, end users are frustrated by the lack of responsiveness to their needs, and that empowering the end user not only improves the impression of the service it can save money.

Cultural Family Therapy: Integrating Family Therapy with Cultural PsychiatryUniversité de Montréal
CULTURAL FAMILY THERAPY:
INTEGRATING SYSTEMIC FAMILY THERAPY WITH CULTURAL PSYCHIATRY
Co-Chairs: Vincenzo Di Nicola, M.Phil., M.D., Ph.D., Ellen Berman, M.D.
SUMMARY:
This interactive, case-based workshop is designed for clinicians who work with families presenting mental health challenges across cultures. Di Nicola will present Cultural Family Therapy (CFT), a synthesis of systemic family therapy and sociocultural psychiatry. In numerous publications and international workshops over the last 30 years, Di Nicola has elaborated a model of CFT, presented in his book, "A Stranger in the Family: Culture, Families, and Therapy" (1997).
CFT weaves together family stories that express their mental and relational predicaments and conceptual tools for conducting clinical work. CFT is an ongoing update of our notions of “family” and “therapy,” on one hand, and of “culture” and “psychiatry,” on the other. Three basic principles and processes for CFT are: 1) the deep parallels between the notions of “family” and “culture,” mean that “culture” supersedes the notion of family “system”; 2) each family is the bearer of the larger culture(s) in which it is embedded and creates a culture of its own, so the family is the vehicle for intergenerational cultural transmission, for maintaining culture (cultural coherence), and for generating its own small-scale cultural adaptations, yielding three yoked family functions: cultural transmission, cultural maintenance/coherence, and cultural adaptation; 3) at the heart of systemic family theory and sociocultural psychiatry is a relational psychology that inverses theorizing from self to society by redefining the notions of identity and belonging through relations. With its relational and sociocultural approach, CFT is uniquely responsive to working with families undergoing culture change within and across cultures. In a world with huge global flows of migrants and refugees instigated by conflict, disasters, or economic and social reasons, CFT offers clinical tools to understand and treat families experiencing severe stress due to rapid and massive culture change. These processes will be explained, illustrated in case examples, and distributed to the workshop participants in handouts.

Workforce Management (WFM) is an integrated set of processes that the company uses to optimize the productivity of its employees and it should mainly consist of five main pillars I.e. Procurement, Recruitment, Human Resource, Operation and finance. It involves monitoring supply status and
current inventory, recruitment process lifecycle, resource allocation and
utilization, invoicing process and approvals, forecasting labor requirements effectively and creating and managing staff schedules to accomplish a task on a day to day and hour to hour basis and analytics.
The current available Workforce Management Solution software mainly focuses on Human Resource as the core entity which may extend to include operations or finance but most of them lack the complete eco system to
implement a full fledge Workforce Management solution.
Workforce Management solution should be operational end to end which means it should start with the procurement of the resources to recruiting those resources after which human resource comes in to play and a swift operational process which
ends in analytics mainly focusing on finance.

Operations Plan
· Key aspects of operations.
Vegetus Oasis Company will have three production facilities as a part of investment with a capacity to produce over 5,000 bottles per hour. Our manufacturing process will have a strict quality control and inspection procedure ensuring to meet the highest standards. Vegetus Oasis Company will employ a labor force of over 1000 men in this three facility on both permanent and seasonal contracts. We will remove all impurities from pure water by using various filtering and softening techniques. Precise quantities of sugar along with the beverage recipe will be thoroughly mixed under high pressure to produce fizziness. After that, an automated machinery will dispense the mixture in calculated quantity into thoroughly sterilized bottles. Another machine will then apply barcodes and labels to the bottles after which they will be inspected so as to make sure they meet all the necessary industrial standards. Finally, they are moved to devices that will pack them into cartons ready for dispatch.
· Cost and Time Efficiencies.
Production efficiency is a business’ ability to produce the highest number of units of a good while using the least amount of resources such as time and raw materials. A balance between the rate of production, use of resources and quality of the goods produced must be met to achieve production efficiency. Vegetus Oasis Company will solve this by being committed to delivering the maximum units on time and within the budget. Sourcing suppliers that provide the highest standard of quality and value for money while developing innovative strategies through the Research and Development department will help achieve cost and time efficiency thus putting Vegetus Oasis Company ahead of its competitors.
· Competitive Advantages.
Competitive advantage is the unique features of a company and its products that are perceived by the target market as superior to the competition and significant in the market. Business-level strategies are concerned with a firm's position in the industry, relative to competitors. Continuous efforts to lower costs through building state of the art and efficient facilities will make it costly for competitors to imitate our product standards. We intend to create brand loyalty among our customers since loyalty provides a difficult barrier to overcome. Designing products that are easy to manufacture through R&D, introducing self-managing teams, training, pay to performance, strong leadership and building a company commitment to efficiency will ensure quality control and survival in the market.
Functional strategies are usually concerned with appropriate timing. In our case, advertising for a new product is expected to begin ninety days before production of the first unit while raw material orders are placed at least two weeks before prod.

About Us
We consider ourselves well placed as market pace setters in technology
Wavuh Ltd, formerly know as Sharaworld Systems, is a firm with a keen eye on integrating the business
needs of corporate organizations with modern information technologies. We provide solutions that
manage information and support decision making as well as the supporting infrastructure. More so, with
the recent trend towards online businesses and information management we have embarked on
developing web based applications that will allow more interactivity between systems and users.
Among these applications are involved interactive corporate websites, web portals and intranet
applications and now Wavuh ERP.
We are also keen on providing outsourcing facilities through getting into working relationships with young
budding companies and SMEs so as to bring them into a competitive position in the areas of their
operations through providing IT solutions that work both for them and their clients. This is mainly attained
through development and customization of business systems for the organizations as well as maintaining
their existing systems. We are also taking business to the mobile, where using our SMS systems we
support the operations of our clients
We have comprehensive expertise in portfolio management and insurance administration systems,
having provided solutions to some of the leading portfolio management companies.
Why we pride ourselves as being the best at what we do
1. Our systems facilitate better planning and decision making as well as tracking business
performance efficiently and effectively.
2. We provide a comprehensive set of modules which are independent yet work with each other
seamlessly to provide a solution that fits various aspects of our clients.
3. Using the communication tools such as email and/or skype to collect feedback from the various
system users and subjects, thus obtaining interactivity and user comfort.
4. The systems can be configured in order to be accessible through the mobile phone such that
some of the function can be performed off-site.

Business Process
Our Strategy will be to provide a well knit all round business automator that will be set to improve the
efficiency and effectiveness for Kenyan SMEs. The product, Wavuh ERP, will comprise the following
modules:
1. Accounting
This is the section that handles all the cash in/cash out aspects of the organization. The module contains
the Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, General Ledger, Sales & Purchases management and Bank
Reconciliation. These are easily integrated with the other sections of the system to provide an all rounded
accounting experience
2. Inventory and procurement management
In this section, the inventory of the organization is managed, right from the procurement process to the
delivery and dissemination of the items. It includes bidder & quotation management, order placement and
deliveries & stock level management. The module generates all the documents required for this process,
such as GRN, Purchase Orders, Quotations and Invoices. It is closely linked to the accounting system.
3. Asset Management
It is very important to know and manage your assets as effectively and efficiently as possible. The asset
manager in Wavuh helps the organization to note the present assets, their worth now and in future owing
to depreciation, the various people to whom they are leased and when their disposals are due.
4. Human Resource
We acknowledge that human resource is the most vital asset of any organization. We have provided a
HR module that provides adequate management of members of staff, their bio-data, qualifications,
discipline, leave, recruitment details, posts and departments among other data.
5. Payroll
The payroll module works in conjunction with the accounting system to manage the timely and complete
payment of staffers. It contains all the details of the employees that affect their payment. It also has a
module that can interface with banking systems to allow for payment instructions to be passed across.
Necessary security measures have been put in place to ensure this process is as flawless as possible.
6. Customer Service Manager
This module has borrowed a lot from the world’s leading CMS system to ensure that all customers are
well managed. It provides information such as the satisfaction index of the products on offer, the
frequently asked questions and issues affecting most customers.
7. Project Management System
The project management system brings together all the resources that comprise a project, ranging from
time, staff members, casual laborers, assets and inventory, with quality outputs such as the project
schedules and their notifiers available from the system.
4. P a g e | 3
8. Manufacturing module
This module’s functionality allows materials to be issued from stock and manufactured items to be
received into stock. Thus it comprises components such as the work orders and management of bill of
materials and their costing. The system is integrated with the accounting system (general ledger) owing to
its operations.
9. Helpdesk
This module is used to resolve any issues arising from both internal and external customers, which are
then created into tickets and assigned to various task handlers. One is able at any one given time to see
the progress of a given ticket.
10. School Management module
We have adapted from Strathmore University’s (and Catholic University’s) academic management system
to build an application that allows registration of students, allotment into a faculty/course, be billed
accordingly, receive and upload assignments online and exam results while being integrated with the
accounts module for fees payment.
11. Manufacturing module
This module’s functionality allows materials to be issued from stock and manufactured items to be
received into stock. Thus it comprises components such as the work orders and management of bill of
materials and their costing. The system is integrated with the accounting system (general ledger) owing to
its operations.
Partnerships
Wavuh’s strategic premise will also rely on the formation of sound partnership programme with other business
institutions. The partnership we expect to create will go along the following industries/segments:
Large Retail chains: We have partnered with a number of large distributor chains to close the loopholes
between them and their suppliers, automating the sourcing of items and the delivery process in a fully
transparent and effective manner.
Schools: we have a special schooling module that facilitates e-learning. This module is then integrated with
the rest of the modules to create a seamless schooling cycle.
Government institutions: we shall partner with the government to facilitate quick and easy
management of tendering processes.
Manufacturing firms: these firms will be able post new products batches online so as to allow their
distributors to track the batches.
Research companies: we have partnered with renowned research companies to collect information
through East Africa and produce information useful to Africa and beyond.
Banking Institutions: we have partnered with recognized banking institutions which in turn offer quality
services to their clients and help nurture an entrepreneurial spirit in the society.
