The document assesses the wave power potential of the Aegean Sea using a 15-year wave model validated by data from 9 wave buoys. It analyzes mean, seasonal, and monthly wave characteristics and power at 4 bands near the Turkish coast and 10 reference points, finding the middle Aegean Sea has the highest mean wave height and power potential, with February the most powerful month and point 3, 4, and 8 having the highest wave power potentials.

• Maximum mean wave height of 0.96 (m), and maximum mean
wave power above 5.2 kW/m is observable in middle part of
Aegean Sea
• February most powerful and May is the calmest month.
• North is the most frequent wave direction in study region
• Point 3, 4 and 8 have relatively high wave power potentials
• Mean wave power at distance of 20 km, is nearly three times of
the mean wave power at 1 km band
