The 2012 Minnesota Internet Survey is conducted every two years by the Center for Rural Policy & Development in St. Peter, MN. The survey looks at adoption rates in the Twin Cities metro area and the rest of the state, what people like to do online, and how they access the Internet.
The Minnesota Internet Survey is a continuing examination of broadband access in Minnesota. Started in 2001, the survey looks at and compares adoption rates for rural and urban users, including activities, willingness to pay and the impact of factors such as age and income on adoption.

Mobile marketing can refer to one of two categories of marketing. First, and relatively new, is meant to describe marketing on or with a mobile device, such as a mobile phone (this is an example of horizontal telecommunication convergence). Second, and a more traditional definition, is meant to describe marketing in a moving fashion - for example - technology road shows or moving billboards.
Although there are various definitions for the concept of mobile marketing, no commonly accepted definition exists. Mobile marketing is broadly defined as “the use of the mobile medium as a means of marketing communication”[1] or “distribution of any kind of promotional or advertising messages to customer through wireless networks”. More specific definition is the following: “using interactive wireless media to provide customers with time and location sensitive, personalized information that promotes goods, services and ideas, thereby generating value for all stakeholders".
In November 2009, the Mobile Marketing Association updated its definition of Mobile Marketing:
Mobile Marketing is a set of practices that enables organizations to communicate and engage with their audience in an interactive and relevant manner through any mobile device or network.
Mobile marketing is commonly known as wireless marketing. However wireless is not necessarily mobile. For instance, a consumer’s communications with a Web site from a desktop computer at home, with signals carried over a wireless local area network (WLAN) or over a satellite network, would qualify as wireless but not mobile communications.

Recent evolutions in mobile technologies are fostering new modes of interactions and allowing the creation of services that work seamlessly across devices. The same is true in Africa, given a penetration of mobile phones well over 50% of the population. The difference? Many: dumbphones instead of smartphones; low literacy level limits the possibility to use text-based services (be it web or SMS); scarcity of PCs; importance of community radios in rural areas.
Starting from projects services for farmers in West Africa, the talk presents some of the most interesting cases of multi-channel approaches – that combine different eras of technology in one service. It details the possibilities. In conclusion, it reflects on the learnings and how these can be applied to Europe and North America.
Key Findings of the Study:
More than 3-fold increase in subscribers since 2008
64.4% of the current subscribers are urban
Total wireless segment accounts for 933.7mn
Wireline accounts for a 3.2% of the overall market

The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. • Mapping of service as of June 2012 showed approximately 41,000
households are without access to fixed broadband service of at least
768Kbps download and 200Kbps upload.
• Four counties in Minnesota meet desired national standards set to be
in place by 2016.
• Most significant difference between broadband services available in
Metropolitan/Micropolitan and areas that are not is density of
households.
• Mobile broadband service provides a means of filling the broadband
availability void in unserved communities.
