Dr. Robert Winter, Superintendent
Letter of Recommendation for Mrs. Betty Wagner:
For the past five years I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Mrs. Betty Wagner. As a frame of
reference, since July 1, 2011 I have served the Grand Island, NE school district as their Superintendent and
Betty has served as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. It has been over this five
year time frame that I have come to know, appreciate and value the contributions Betty brings not only to this
office but, more importantly, to the entire school district.
Betty is the consummate professional. She possesses excellent organizational and writing skills. She sees the
big picture and problem solves well. Additionally, Betty is very knowledgeable and skilled in project
management. Upon assignment of numerous projects, I always knew they would be carried out correctly
from start to finish and in a timely manner. Known as the “go to person” in the district, staff, parents and
members of the Board of Education rely on and trust Betty when seeking information, direction or advice.
We have all heard the statement “A Jack of All Trades, Master of None”. This is not the case with Betty
Wagner. Her skill set is both wide and varied and she is always willing to take on new challenges and master
new skills. Her daily efforts truly reflect a Life Long Learner. Presently, as one of ten statewide Board of
Directors, Betty is very active with the Nebraska Chapter of the National Association of Educational Office
Professionals. Always looking to learn, grow and improve, Betty truly has the ability to collaborate, inspire and
influence the individuals she works with to ultimately turn vision into reality.
All of this having been said, I would submit that Betty’s greatest skills lie in her ability to work with
people. Quite honestly, her people skills are simply off the chart. She possesses the innate ability to engage in
conversations with patrons and staff in a professional, caring manner always leaving the individual feeling that
they have been listened to and cared for. With respect to this skill set she is the best I have ever worked with
over my thirty eight year career in education.
In conclusion, I would offer that any company would be blessed to have this talented individual as a member of
their Leadership team. If you wish further information or would like to visit with me, please do not hesitate to

Sincerely,
Robert W Winter, Ed.D.
