This article summarizes a study that evaluated students' understanding and interest in Jawi (Arabic script used for Malay) education after using educational technology media in teaching at primary schools in Malaysia. The study found that using educational technology media like computers and multimedia software increased students' test scores and engagement with Jawi material compared to traditional teaching methods. Specifically, students' test scores on Jawi education increased from 5% to 95% after experiencing the new media-aided teaching methods. However, the author notes that the study had a small sample size of 52 students and was conducted only in one school, so more extensive research is needed to generalize the findings.
This document contains two literature reviews related to the usage of technology in higher education. The first review examines a study on the adoption of educational technology ten years after strategic goals were set at a Canadian university. It found that while technology has potential to improve teaching, numerous barriers exist. The second review looks at a study on mega-universities and knowledge media strategies. It found that mega-universities are using technology to change systems and support students, representing a third generation of distance education beyond correspondence and multimedia. Both reviews discuss variables, research questions, methods, findings, and perceptions of limitations and strengths.

The study compared the use of traditional threaded discussion forums versus text-focused wikis for online discussions among 20 graduate students. Students first used threaded discussions, then switched to using a text-focused wiki in week 5. Data from questionnaires found that the wiki format led to more focus, depth, and flow in discussions, as well as greater willingness to participate, as evidenced by more posts and words. However, the wiki was less conducive to discussions of personal experiences. The researchers suggest further study is needed on what types of discussions each format best supports and how instructor facilitation could be combined with each approach.

This study intends to explore the current trends in the field of distance education research catalogued in Web of Science (WoS) database during 1980-2016. Mainly bibliographic description and social network analysis was employed to investigate the structure and patterns of information exchanged within the field of distance education research and also to interpret the interrelationship between keywords indicated in these articles. A total of 500 most cited articles (out of 6,141 relevant to the topic) were reviewed to examine the impact of factors such as journal DOI and keywords on the number of citations that they received. We also identified major trends in distance education literature including variation across publication and citation year, top ranking of institutions and top ranking of published papers based on authors, subject area and co-authorship collaboration between countries. Our results show that the most cited articles are from two institutions of United States and United Kingdom and the most prolific years in terms of number of published articles and citations are 2013.We also found non-significant and very small correlation between the number of citation and DOI number of the journals. Our study serves as a resource for future studies by indicating how trends in distance education research have gradually developed over time and demonstrating the characteristics of the most cited articles in this literature.

ON THE USAGE OF DATABASES OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS IN MACEDONIAN EDUCATIONIJITE
Technologies have become important part of our lives. The steps for introducing ICTs in education vary from country to country. The Republic of Macedonia has invested with a lot in installment of hardware and software in education and in teacher training. This research was aiming to determine the situation of usage of databases of digital educational materials and to define recommendation for future improvements. Teachers from urban schools were interviewed with a questionnaire. The findings are several: only part of the interviewed teachers had experience with databases of educational materials; all teachers still need capacity building activities focusing exactly on the use and benefits from databases of educational materials; preferably capacity building materials to be in Macedonian language; technical support and upgrading of software and materials should be performed on a regular basis. Most of the findings can be applied at both national and international level – with all this implemented, application of ICT in education will have much

The article critiques a paper titled "Using Edutainment Software to Enhance Online Learning" which discusses using educational games to engage students. However, the critiquer notes some inconsistencies. Though the title references online learning, much of the content actually focuses on traditional classrooms rather than online settings. Additionally, while the introduction and conclusion suggest supporting educational games, some statements contradict this by listing arguments against their use. The most informative section objectively discusses the cognitive benefits of games in developing problem-solving and teamwork skills. Overall, the critiquer finds the paper's intent unclear due to inconsistencies between focusing on online versus traditional learning, and seeming both for and against educational games.

The talk looked at how we're trying to prepare health professional students for an increasingly complex health system, but we're still using teaching methods that originated centuries ago. I ask questions about how we can change teaching practices to take into account the characteristics we expect of our graduates. I discussed the importance of taking a critical stance towards the implementation of technological solutions, and to be careful of making assumptions about the use of technology to solve all problems.

Analysing The Student Voice On Engagement With Research Resources At First Ye...Sara Alvarez
This document analyzes student exam essays from a 2014 undergraduate course to understand how students perceive and engage with research resources. It finds that:
1) Students expressed anxiety about the research process and valued convenience, with some noting the time intensive nature of research.
2) Reference works, like encyclopedias, were unfamiliar to many students initially but they found them surprisingly insightful and want to use them more.
3) Students commonly used free online sources like Wikipedia for early stages of research but were directed to use specialized reference works for assignments, which they found very useful. The document suggests reference works should be promoted rather than accepting their decline.
THE INFLUENCE OF LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON STUDENTS' PERFORMANCE IN UNIVE...Sedufia Bokoh
The outbreak of the novel corona virus has imposed online learning in most schools accross the world. Although online learning is not a relatively new thing, most schools havent really made use of it up until the need aroused in the recent outbreak of the Corona virus.
The university of Education, Winneba was not left out, but had to adjust the new normal of online mode of lesson delivery, thus adopting the Learning Management System (LMS) to continue the cut harsh cut-off of the face to face lesson delivery. Researchers have carried out studies on the use of the LMS and its adaption. We the researchers of this study also want to explore the influence the LMS has on students academic performances.
1) The document discusses the increasing use of computers in secondary education in India. It notes how computers have become essential tools for learning and have revolutionized the educational field.
2) The sample for the study is 100 students from Class 7 to 10 at Shastri Vidyapith High School in Assam. Data will be collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations to understand students' computer access and usage.
3) The objectives are to examine students' computer awareness, internet use, time and place of computer use, and purpose of computer use. The study also aims to compare the academic achievement of students who use computers versus those who do not.
The present study examines the Awareness of information literacy programs among engineering college students in Sivagangai district, Tamil Nadu.Information literacy programs help students learn how to use resources in the library and how to access new resources through information technology education programs, helping students develop their technology skills. Survey method was adopted for this study and constructs questionnaire was administered to collect the information.140 questionnaires were issued to the students of Sri Rajarajan College of Engineering and Technology and AlagappaChettiar Government College of Engineering and Technology out of which 125 questionnaires were received. Statistical tools used for analysis were chi-square, independent samples t-test and ANOVA for gender, age and program based differences in students' IL program. This study plays an important role in finding the right level of awareness. Knowing the students and what their educational needs are, colleges conduct coaching classes for students. This study suggested the need to develop an awareness program on the use of library resources/databases/web tools. Therefore various college librarians or individual staff should conduct training programs for students using library and communication facilities

The main purposes for using open access resources were found to be writing scholarly articles (50.17%), workshops and seminar preparation (27.53%), and research (16.73%). Only 3.48% used them for teaching. The study also found that awareness and use of open access resources was higher among social science academics (65.85%) than science academics (34.15%).
This document proposes using text analytics and the RapidMiner data analytics tool to analyze student data from an online learning environment to predict students' interests in various subject areas. It discusses limitations in current approaches and the need to more accurately understand student interests to refine educational offerings. The proposed approach would collect student data through the UTS online platform and use text analytics and RapidMiner to identify patterns in students' discussions that indicate their interests in different topics. This could help university authorities better tailor course content based on predicted student demand.
A Comparison Of E-Learning And Traditional Learning Experimental ApproachKayla Jones
This document summarizes a study that compared student achievement and satisfaction between e-learning and traditional learning approaches. Two experiments with student groups were conducted over two semesters. Statistical analysis found no significant differences in mean test scores between the e-learning and traditional groups. Student interviews revealed both benefits and drawbacks to each approach. While e-learning offered flexibility, traditional learning allowed for more direct interaction and discussion with instructors and peers. Overall, the findings suggest blended learning that combines e-learning and traditional methods may improve student outcomes.

An Analysis of Behavioral Intention toward Actual Usage of Open Source Softwa...IJAEMSJORNAL
This study focused on analyzing behavioral intention toward the actual usage of open source software in private universities in Tanzania. Questionnaires were used to collect quantitative data in two private universities namely Iringa University and Ruaha Catholic University. Stratified sampling technique was utilized to ensure sample representativeness among two universities where simple random sampling was used to draw a sample from each stratum during the survey. Finding Using Structural Equation Modeling indicated that performance expectancy (source code production and software localization) and social factor (Vendor, internet services provider and lecturer) have a significant influence toward behavioral intention while effort expectancy was found to be insignificant. In addition the behavioral intention was found to be significant toward student’s actual usage of open source software in Universities. This study recommended that for students to develop behavioral intention toward OSS actual usage, internet service provider have to increase the level of internet services that can assist the university communities to access and download open source software. In addition, to increase actual use, open source software vendors and lecturer or experts have to make sure that their software source code is free for distribution and localization, this will increase self-motivation and interest of the students toward actual usage of open source software.

4. Introduction
Education and Libraries are inseparable
and indivisible institutions working for
promotion and evaluation of teaching,
learning, and research.
Education and libraries had incorporated
Information Technology and its related
aspects to provide better services to the
seekers of knowledge and Information.
Due to impact of ICT, E-Publishing has
emerged in libraries leading to electronic
information sources.
11/23/2017 4
5. The Libraries and Information Centres, with
their diminishing (or at best static) financial
allocations, have to consider new ways to
consolidate global resources in order to
maximize their limited financial resources.
These developments gave impetus to the
formation of “shared subscriptions” or
“consortia based subscriptions” to journals
worldwide
Library Consortium facilitates end users
with benefits of more resources that would
be available through one library and library
staff can customize the system to meet
their individual library’s needs.
11/23/2017 5
6. Library consortium creates an
opportunity to provide enhanced library
services by making use of e-resources.
UGC-Infonet Digital Library Consortium
emerged as a super gateway for
university academic community in India
providing access to expensive scholarly
resources both primary and secondary
resources in electronic form since 2004.
11/23/2017 6
7. The success and popularity of any
information system would depend on its
proper utilization by its end users.
Today there has been tremendous
growth of information sources especially
in the electronic format due to the
impact of information and
communication technology.
To carry out research and
developmental activities, information is11/23/2017 7

One third of respondents in different
universities adopt subject as Search
Access Points for searching information
from E-Journals and Databases followed
by title of the document (30.8%) and then
keywords (27/2%). 11/23/2017 50
51. Boolean operators are the important
options for finding refined information and
as such 34.5 percent of respondents
indicated of using Logical Operators as a
Search strategy for E-Journals and
Databases and 20.2 percent use Boolean
operators and 29.8% use advanced
search options. Statistical results indicate
association between discipline of the
respondents and advanced search
options and no relation for Boolean
Operators and Logical Operators.

52. Almost all the respondents covered in the
study use pen drive for storing data and
92.1 percent use hard disc of their
systems. However, only 22.4% use
CD/DVD’s as a storage media used for
storing data.
Majority of the respondents (95.9%) save
and store articles from store e-journals and
databases under UGC Infonet consortia.
However, less than half of the respondents
prefer to take print out of such articles and11/23/2017 52

teaching and research scholars prefer
both Print and Electronic versions of
information sources to support their
curriculum, research and teaching. As
compared to print, definitely majority of
respondents prefer to use electronic
version of information resources (77.6%)
against print formats (47%).

54. Regarding Usefulness of UGC Infonet
Consortium E-Resources, 29.2 percent
have rated these E-Resources as highly
useful at scale five and useful at scale 4
each.
40.6 percent of teaching faculty opines
UGC Infonet Consortium E-Resources
as highly useful in scale five against

55. Only 26.9 percent of respondents are fully
satisfied with the availability of e-resources
under UGC Infonet Consortium and 37.1
percent are satisfied indicating in scale 4.
This can be inferred that level of satisfaction
is not that satisfactory, still 28% are
uncertain about it.
About 60 percent of the respondents have
indicated sufficiency of E-Journals and
Databases under National Consortia and
the rest are not that positive as far as E-11/23/2017 55

indicated Challenges of using UGC Infonet
E-Resources is speed of accessibility and
hence, efforts be made to ensure better
bandwidth to the users.
While 21% of them mentioned difficulty in
finding information which indicates the need
for regular training to the users for better
utilization of e-resources in the universities.
One fourth of respondents also indicate that
lack of awareness about its usefulness is
also one of the reasons in optimizing usage

57. 45.4 percent of respondents indicated the
impact of UGC Infonet e-resources on
contributing improved research quality. Chi-
Square Test is applied to test the null
hypothesis “There is no significant
difference between five universities under
study and Impact of UGC Infonet
Consortium E-Resources on
Improved research quality”.
Results found that there is significant
difference between five universities and
Impact of UGC Infonet Consortium E-
Resources on Improved research quality;
hence the null hypothesis is rejected.11/23/2017 57
58. Less than one fourth of respondents
indicated low impact of UGC Infonet
Consortium E-Resources on
Increase research publications, which is a
serious alarm to libraries and INFLIBNET
centre.
38.1% of the respondents indicated that
E-
Resources available in UGC Infonet cons
ortium are more useful than print resource

UGC Infonet had Great impact on r
esearch and teaching in universities.11/23/2017 59
61. SUGGESTIONS
Developing Technology Culture
Use of Information and Communication
Technology is a basic foundation for optimization
of E-resources. Hence, it is recommended to
incorporate technology based education for class
related research to familiarize with the
significance of technology and overcome
inhibitions.
Creating awareness about the worthiness of
Internet & E-RESOURCES as an Information
Source.
11/23/2017 61
62. There is a need to create a sense of
integrity and acceptance to the Internet
technology for the user community as a
valuable information resource to build
strong information base.
Availability of Strong Technological
Infrastructure - Campus network facility
with strong infrastructure facilities of
Internet connectivity will boost the better
use of UGC INFONET DIGITAL LIBRARY
E-RESOURCES. 11/23/2017 62
63. Education and Training Program - There is
an urgent need to educate and organize
training program as a regular feature to train
and explore the various options of UGC
Infonet resources, services and tools.
Ensuring the speed of Internet - As the
user community has expressed their
dissatisfaction towards the speed of Internet
connectivity due to low bandwidth, it is
recommended to establish campus
Internetworking with dedicated leased line
facility or VSAT technology for speedy
access to Internet facility and availability of
number of nodes to the users.11/23/2017 63
64. The study reveals lack of sufficiency of e-
journals and databases under UGC Infonet
relevant for their research and calls for
Indian content and hence, the research
reporting be made to the INFLIBNET for
evaluating and including more of Indian
content resources in the consortia.
Develop skills and expertise among LIS
Professionals

65. Conclusion
Knowingly or unknowingly, intentionally or unintentionally, Internet
has had impact on Library and information centers to such an extent
that, it has become integral part of library activities and services. In
this environment, UGC has taken a giant step to subscribe to full text
and abstracting information resources for the academic and
research community under UGC INFONET consortia available on
the net, the functioning of library system has to be redefined.
Based on the findings that, results are not that satisfactory for
optimum utilization of e-journals and databases under UGC Infonet
consortia. Similar to the dictum, survival of the fittest, until and
unless, the library professionals show their competence in
developing technology based products and implementing information
technology.
It is therefore, up-to the Information and knowledge managers to
conduct regular workshops/ short training programs to the faculty
and students to optimize the usefulness of e-resources under UGC
Infonet consortia and build proper ICT facilities with better bandwidth
is the need of the hour. 11/23/2017 65
