VOCABULARY OF THE TEXT
Anthropomorphic figures: ascribing human form or attributes to a being or thing not human
Dating: time in terms of the month, day, and year at which some event happened or will happen
Proof: evidence or facts that are sufficient to establish a thing as true or believable
Husbandry: the cultivation and production of edible crops or of animals for food;
agriculture; farming.
Megalithic stone: a stone of great size, esp. in ancient construction work, as the Cyclopean masonry, or in
prehistoric Neolithic remains, as dolmens or menhirs.
Sort: a particular kind, species, variety, class, or group, distinguished by a common character or nature
Breed: a group of organisms within a species, esp a group of domestic animals, originated and maintained
by man and having a clearly defined set of characteristics
Salted: a crystalline compound, sodium chloride, NaCl, occurring as a mineral, a constituent of seawater,
etc., and used for seasoning food, as a preservative, etc.
Dyes: a staining or colouring substance, such as a natural or synthetic pigment
Shrines: a building or other shelter, often of a stately or sumptuous character, enclosing the remains or relics
of a saint or other holy person and forming an object of religious veneration and pilgrimage.
Sauce: any preparation, usually liquid or semiliquid, eaten as a gravy or as a relish accompanying food.
Wool: the fine, soft, curly hair that forms the fleece of sheep and certain other animals, characterized by
minute, overlapping surface scales that give it its felting property.
Shortly: in a short time
Defeat: to overcome in a contest, election, battle, etc.
Launched: to set (a boat or ship) in the water.
Nobility: the noble class or the body of nobles in a country.
Fortified: to protect or strengthen against attack; surround or provide with defensive military works.
Overrun: to spread over or cover (an area or place) quickly and in great numbers

A VOCABULARY OF THE TEXT Anthropomorphic figures: ascribing human form or attributes to a being or thing not human Dating: time in terms of the month, day, and year at which some event happened or will happen Proof: evidence or facts that are sufficient to establish a thing as true or believable Husbandry: the cultivation and production of edible crops or of animals for food; agriculture; farming. Megalithic stone: a stone of great size, esp. in ancient construction work, as the Cyclopean masonry, or in prehistoric Neolithic remains, as dolmens or menhirs. Sort: a particular kind, species, variety, class, or group, distinguished by a common character or nature Breed: a group of organisms within a species, esp a group of domestic animals, originated and maintained by man and having a clearly defined set of characteristics Salted: a crystalline compound, sodium chloride, NaCl, occurring as a mineral, a constituent of seawater, etc., and used for seasoning food, as a preservative, etc. Dyes: a staining or colouring substance, such as a natural or synthetic pigment Shrines: a building or other shelter, often of a stately or sumptuous character, enclosing the remains or relics of a saint or other holy person and forming an object of religious veneration and pilgrimage. Sauce: any preparation, usually liquid or semiliquid, eaten as a gravy or as a relish accompanying food. Wool: the fine, soft, curly hair that forms the fleece of sheep and certain other animals, characterized by minute, overlapping surface scales that give it its felting property. Shortly: in a short time Defeat: to overcome in a contest, election, battle, etc. Launched: to set (a boat or ship) in the water. Nobility: the noble class or the body of nobles in a country. Fortified: to protect or strengthen against attack; surround or provide with defensive military works. Overrun: to spread over or cover (an area or place) quickly and in great numbers
