The company's IT operations costs were rapidly outpacing its growth as its server count increased 300% over two years and it went from 4 to over 25 enterprise systems. It chose Terremark as its strategic partner to virtualize its entire production environment and migrate it to their data center to gain visibility, control costs, and improve support. The migration took three months and was completed successfully over a weekend without customer impact, resulting in significantly reduced costs, improved support and disaster recovery capabilities, and environmental benefits. Some lessons learned included carefully profiling servers, ensuring vendor support for virtualization, checking software licensing, and setting clear service level agreements.

Moving to the Cloud can be a scary endeavor but with current technology and advancements, it is a business no-brainer. With the state of the business where it is, this move will ensure that we are setup for success now and will have a good foothold for future advancements. Let’s talk about some of the requirements and why this move will be the best thing for the company.
Cost
The principal profit, and maybe most paramount in the personalities of numerous entrepreneurs, is its cost advantage. Cloud storage is by and large more reasonable because suppliers appropriate the expenses of their framework and administrations crosswise over numerous organizations. The expense of hardware and maintenance are disposed of when it moves to the cloud. Security and Reliability
As opposed to having hardware inside the office, cloud storage is housed in a server farm, giving excellent security. Additionally, in the cloud, information is moved down to numerous servers, so if one server crashes, the information is protected and is put away in different areas. The potential hardware breakdown danger gets to be insignificant when information is securely put away in excess areas.
A drawback of the cloud is that if your internet connection is down, you will lose access to the cloud service. A healthy alternative that can satisfy this is to use on-site servers instead. On-site or local servers are easily and readily accessible and can be quickly backed- up to a networked device. They're typically more secure too, as everything is managed from one location.
Preliminary Plan
We could start with getting server equipment for the main office and migrating data to the new servers. A maintenance plan for security and upkeep of the servers can be put in place as well. Then we can start to get hosting for our data over the cloud. Access can be setup so that certain levels and certain personnel can continue to be productive in a mobile nature.
All in all, moving to the cloud is a great idea for future growth. The cost is minimal and a lot of features are one time purchases that ensure future success. All the concerns of the company and be met so that data loss can be minimal or non existent. This move will create a surge in productivity by effectively using technology.

Implement Test Harness For Streaming Data Pipelines
Gaurav Kr Shukla presented on implementing a test harness for streaming data pipelines. He discussed challenges in testing data pipelines due to lack of control over data sources. The solution was to develop a centralized data ingestion platform using Apache Beam SDK and Google Cloud Dataflow that ingests data from multiple sources into a BigQuery data lake. The presentation covered introducing test automation into the SDLC including consumer driven contract tests to reduce dependency on data sources and custom utilities to test the transformed data in BigQuery. The results were a plug-and-play test automation framework that improved test coverage by 230% and reduced regression cycles by 70%.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
