Clouds offer advantages over traditional data centers like paying for only what is used and automatic optimization. However, organizations are hesitant to fully adopt clouds due to issues like lack of control, security concerns, and the significant organizational and cultural changes required. While clouds currently have some service gaps, their flexibility could allow companies to do new things and greater vendor collaboration may address obstacles by providing integrated multi-vendor solutions and guidelines for cloud operating models.
