SCENE 1
FADE IN:
Opening shot is of a calendar that says 2020 April 22. The camera then dollies
around the room showing first in close up COVID-19 masks arranged in a funny way
around the desk/shelf first they are in a box, then they are sorted in messy
clumps/balls only to turn into origami statuettes. The camera shot widens and a
laptop screen is shown with a teacher giving a Zoom lesson. The camera then
dollies downwards towards the bed where two feet wearing disparate socks are. As
the camera dollies along the body, we see that the body is wearing sweatpants
covered in fast food stains. What is more, the body is surrounded by fast food
refuse (discarded burger wrappers, ketchup, etc.) Finally, the dolly rests on the
main character’s face. She is covered in red (ketchup) and her eyes are crossed
as if she were murdered.
Suddenly she breathes a long sad sigh and she gets up out of bed.
SCENE 2
Kitchen
The girl walks into the kitchen where we hear a radio program saying that the
Coronavirus pandemic has entered its second month and that people are again
reminded to be responsible and stay indoors. It is a lockdown after all. The girl
does her COVID-19 routine and check her vitamin D, takes her temperature and
starts boiling tea. She starts checking whether her sense of smell is still good.
First she smells a flower, then frowns and moves onto some perfume. When she
doesn’t smell either she freaks and takes out a Ziploc bag full of smelly tofu
(or something recognizably smelly) takes a whiff and passes out.
SCENE 3
Montage sequence juxtaposed over the calendar changing dates. She is repeating her
routing with some funny variations. Finally the date is September 1 2023.
SCENE 4
The protagonist girl is packing for school and leaving her house finally with a
heaving deep breath.
SCENE 5
Protagonist girl enters her school.

SCENE 6
Protagonist girl goes to her locker. Meets Mikhail who starts talking to her.
Mikhail (literally) hi, how’s your day going?
Girl (confused) emmm..
They both look at each other confusedly.
Mikhail comes up with an idea. Pulls out a tablet screen from his backpack. Puts
it in front of his face.
Mikhail (in English): Oh my goodness, we have been talking through screens for so
long we have forgotten how to communicate without them.
Protagonist (in English): Of course! I thought I was crazy there for a second, I
couldn’t understand a word you were saying.
Protagonist moves towards her locker. Bumps into another boy. Boy drops his books.
They both crouch to pick up the boy’s books. Boy and protagonist girl look at
each other and fall in love immediately.
Boy (in gibberish): these are my books!
Girl (smiles): oh! I am very sorry! That was not what I meant. I..I..
Girl then turns and looks into camera and freaks out.
