Inclusive Design: Designing with all the genders in mind - Anat Katz-Arotchas...nois3
Women represent half the users and control almost 80% of the consumer market, and yet products are often blind to gender differences, perpetuate gender biases, and fail to provide a balanced solution to women’s and men’s needs and preferences. How can we as designers change that? How can we overcome our own unconscious biases and make our products more gender inclusive? And how would it impact the growth of our products and the society we live in? An inspiring session which includes research based methodology and use cases that will open your mind to the potential and practicalities of creating gender inclusive products.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Most of you guys know me, but you don’t know a lot about me. So I’m going to tell you just a little bit about myself… Interned at SAP startup focus program and this is a picture we took after making a worldwide video competition. Sound impressive? Its actually a lot easier than you’d think, and that’s how most of the technical stuff you learn in MIS is. Mobile technologies, and all the new fancy things sound really really cool, but when you boil it down, it just comes down to tying together really simple things.
Ask everyone what kind of phone they haveMet a late graduate (30) said he grew up in college without the cellphone. How would I do anything without it? We all grew up from flip phones right?Whats all the rage with smartphones
This is how we currently use mobile phones, if we are not using our phones as distractions, checking the weather, checking the time, playing games, checking facebook or checking email. But Marc, you said we just broke the barriers of space and time and this is where we ended up? Playing temple run and instagraming food?
Then explain going back to theme of removing barriers of space and time how it naturally makes sense that people use mobile when they need something immediately. Quick and fast When we are looking for local things, like news, weather, places to eat, what to buy, and how to get somewhere. The rest of the time spent using the phone is really just to “stay connected” through transferring information OR wasting time.
