The migration to IP has placed new demands on SCADA radio system capacity with equipment designers working to satisfy spectrum efficiency demands within economic constraints. Exciting new technologies have dramatically reduced the price of efficient quadrature amplitude modulation techniques to the point where implementation in moderately priced UHF SCADA radio systems is possible. This presentation will describe some of the technology behind a new low-cost digital radio that delivers 60 bps in 12.5 kHz for use in licensed UHF frequency bands with some discussion on application examples.

Solar panel monitoring solution using IoT-Faststream TechnologiesSudipta Maity
Faststream Technologies offers an automated IOT based solar panel monitoring/troubleshooting system that allows for automated solar panel monitoring from anywhere over the internet. As part of our solution, we make use of several IoT gateways suitable for different needs, based on SoCs like STM32, ESP32, ublox, CC3200, SiliconLabs, to monitor the solar panel parameters, in turn, providing Solar Plant Insights.
Our system constantly monitors the solar panel and transmits various parameters to the Cloud over the IoT system. Here we make use of the IoT platform to transmit solar power parameters to Amazon/ Azure cloud /IOT server via the gateway (over WiFi and Ethernet). A powerful web interface allows viewing of data in meaningful formats, enabling users to make decisions.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

COST EFFECTIVE OCCUPANCY DETECTION FOR A WIDE RANGE OF
APPLICATIONS ! Featuring Landscape-Computing technology, the VIMOC LC200 Occupancy Detector
has been designed to accurately and reliably detect the presence of a vehicle in a
defined zone including over prolonged occupancy. The LC200 is suitable for a wide
range of applications, such as: car parking space occupancy, dynamic parking payment
schemes, and monitoring of ‘No Parking’ zones. Output from the system can be linked
to management information and control systems and/or variable message signs. The
open API can be accessed directly by any vehicle GPS navigation system, providing
guidance to closest parking space. VIMOC provides its API to different mobile and web
registered application developers for iOS and Android, enabling real-time parking
status feeds to enhance the capability of any existing application.
A WIRELESS SECURED INFRASTRUCTURE KEY FEATURES
Unlike many occupancy systems that rely
on overhead mounting, the LC200 sensors
wirelessly transmit their detection data in
real time, via secure low power radio
technology, to a nearby LC201 Sensory
Router which feeds the information to the
Landscape-Computing mesh network
infrastructure, providing intelligence and
data mining at the edge of the network. The
Landscape-Computing infrastructure
eliminates single point of failure and
provides secure and correlated data and
intelligence to any application via our API.

3. LANDSCAPE COMPUTING ACCESS POINT (nBOX), LC203 ! The LC203 Access Point is the computing node of the Landscape-Computing mesh
network. Each node maintains 2-way communications with up to 160 LC200 sensors via
LC201 Router Units. ! The Access Point is housed in a small powered cabinet
with an externally mounted antenna for the wireless
network. It provides the gateway and local data
collection point for the LC200 occupancy system and
the interface to third party parking management systems
via an Ethernet and/or 3G/4G TCP based REST
Application Programming Interface (API). With these
management systems parking bay occupancy and
optimization can be monitored and managed via
variable message signs or mobile application devices to
direct drivers to available spaces. ! The Landscape-Computing platform connects different
LC203 Access Point in a mesh configuration to form a
computing grid, providing a high-level of intelligence
within the edge of the network and a rich API allowing
IoT and Smart City service providers to build advanced
and scalable applications, while reducing software
complexity and eliminating a single point of failure. ! The nBox Computing Node can connect with different
type of sensors allowing a high level of data correlation.
AN API OF EVERYTHING TO EVERYONE !
VIMOC provides an Application Programming Interface (API) that can be used to extend
the scope of the platform even further. This way it enables companies to adapt existing
services and create new ones to expand their business model into a new universe of
Smart City experiences. ! The Landscape-Computing infrastructure provides Smart City Service Providers a robust
and scalable computing platform to deliver a new generation of applications, and provides
city officials, business operators and the public not only intelligence related to parking, but
the computing resources to correlate the parking sensory data with a wide variety of
additional sensors. This is provided through a dynamic, scalable API that facilitates
access to a wide range of sensory data, in-built statistical analysis, and a framework for
leveraging the intelligent processing capabilities offered by the VIMOC computing nodes.
