II
ABSTRACT
The project presents a low cost and flexible vehicle control and monitoring system using
an embedded microprocessor called Renesas , with Technology for accessing and controlling
devices and appliances remotely using Smart phone application.
The proposed system does not require a dedicated server PC with respect to similar
systems and offers a communication protocol to monitor and control the vehicle with more than
just the switching functionality.
To demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of this system, devices such as
GPS,GSM, IR Sensors, Eye Blink Sensors and RF Tx & Rx etc. can be integrated with vehicle.
Home appliances such as security and control vehicle have become more advanced with
the recent improvements in microprocessors and wireless technologies. Most of these appliances
have difficult and complex user interfaces. However, by incorporating Android smart phones
devices, users can connect to the appliances using their own existing communication device.
The project will outline the design and implementation of a system to interface with pre-
existing vehicle and communicate with a mobile device such as a smart phone. The application
relies on the use of smart phones, IR sensors and GPS systems to collect signals through a
wireless network to provide users with a simple interface to interact with appliances in the
vehicle.
