Students are assigned research projects to complete in groups using Blackboard sites. Groups can present their assignments through prerecorded videos uploaded to their Blackboard sites and viewed in class and at home. Students can then post videos to blogs on Blackboard to discuss topics further or provide peer feedback.
Groups of students are given debatable issues to research and take a side on. They collect evidence to create a public service announcement arguing their position. Students use blogs to reflect on issues and collect supporting information. Their final project is a public service announcement presenting the topic, with discussion threads later created so discussion can continue among the class.
