1. What are the men/women doing? (Dancing, sitting, swimming, etc.)
The men at the beginning of the video are working on cars in a garage.
2. How are the men/women dressed? How much skin is revealed?
The men are dressed in the typical mechanic outfit. The woman is dressed with typical
lady clothes on. High class clothes for the time.
3. Are there more, fewer, or the same number of men as women?
There are more men than women.
4. Describe the body language of the men/women: are they sitting, standing, gyrating,
mugging, etc.?
The men are dancing and singing. At times, Billy Joel is serenading the lady.
5. Do the men/women have power? How do you know?
The woman has power because she has the men drooling over her looks. In the song it
talks about treating the uptown girl right.
6. What³s the message of the song?
The song is about a man who has very little money, who has a crush on and wants to
hook up with this high class girl. The problem is the high class girl only likes rich guys,
but the singer is determined to show her that he is just as good as or better than the high
class boys.
7. What type of music is the song?

Colombian, Russians, Korean, Scottish.
2. Are there any dark skinned women shown? How many?
3 dark skinned women are showed. (Animated)
3. What is the race of the person at the focus of the video?
Japanese, Indian, and Scottish. There are also 3 white animated characters and one black
animated person singing in the bad.
4. What are the black/Latino/Asian/white/Native American/Pacific Islander people
doing?
The Latinos have a bunch of kids and mow lawns, The Asians can’t drive, have a small
penis, the whites (Americans) are eating burgers, holding shot guns, and have an
American flag t-shirt on.
5. What³s the message of the song?
There are a lot of stereotypes in the world, and if you believe them, you are uneducated.

Kissing, humping, showing off breasts. Gaga and Beyonce talk with a sexy tone to their
voice. A guy slaps a woman’s butt who is sitting down.
2. Who is more sexualized • men or women? Both?
Women.Inthe jail,there isalot of cat callinggoingon.
3. Are there sexually explicit lyrics or messages?
Yes, the song is about a woman not wanting to pick up her phone because she is dancing
in a strip club; she is too busy to answer the phone.
4. How are subjects of the music video dressed?
Very skimpy outfits. At the beginning, Lady Gaga is stripped naked. Dancing in bra nad
underwear.
5. Describe the relationships between the men and women: Are they long or short term?
Casual or serious?
There is a relationship but Gaga is too busy at the club with other men to care. In the
video though, she is in jail.

She wants her man to stop blowing up her phone while she is at the club.

1. Describe the products that are highlighted in the video: (cars, jewelry, clothes, etc.)
Highlighted products are high and low end living spaces and high end vs. low end
clothing.
2. Are any brand names shown?
No brand names are shown.
3. How is wealth defined in the video?
Wealth is defined by poor people living in disgusting apartments with undrinkable water,
sewer and roof leaks, electric being shut off, etc., while the rich land lord goes home to
his extravagant house with a wife who loves to shop.
4. Are products mentioned in the song lyrics?
No specific products are mentioned.
5. What³s the message of the song?
The message is about rich land lords who take every little thing from their poor clients.
While his clients live in poverty, the land lord will take their processions or anything that
they have to make them pay rent. The video really shows how the poor have to live, and
how the rich live. At the end, it shows the roles being reversed by the poor clients
ganging up on the land lord, beating him up, and taking whatever is on his person. The
video really shows how greed can make a rich person heartless and not care how the poor
are living, and how the poor can become angry, upset with, jealous, and violent toward
the wealthy.

“This is for the kids with the beaten in lips. Whose parents try to shut them up using their
fists.” “Light my wounds with kerosene.”
2. Describe any violent body language:
There are kids who have wounds on their face from child abuse.
3. Describe any violent actions or weapons that are shown:
There are not really any violent actions shown, besides for burning the house with
kerosene. Based on the main point of the song, only the injuries to the kids after their
parents hit them are shown.
4. Describe any self-mutilation or violence:
Lighting a house on fire with kerosene.
5. What³s the message of the song?
Parents abusing their kids who already have a lot on their mind and a lot to deal with in
life. At the end of a video, there are resources given for anyone who is suffering from
domestic violence.

Heavy metal
