• Over 14,000 organisations operating in the voluntary
sector
• 334,200 volunteers (12% of the GM population)
• Giving 1.1 million hours of time per week
• Worth around £656.3 million

• Bringing together 70 organisations from the City Region
• Conducting interviews with individuals who work around
volunteering
• Identifying shared priorities and principles
• Forming a Partnership to take work forward

• Recognising volunteering as a pathway into other opportunities
but not as an alternative to paid work

• Ensuring there are infrastructure organisations that support both
Volunteer Managers and volunteers and have the resources to deliver
