Initially, there was limited student interest in health promotion, but since integrating it as a core part of the curriculum in 2006, student interest and engagement has increased significantly. The number of students choosing health promotion electives and research has grown five-fold. Students are also increasingly selecting health promotion topics for publications, conference presentations, and grant/award applications. The increased emphasis on health promotion has had many positive outcomes for students and faculty at KCLSM.
