OBJECTIVE
I am looking for an opportunity for secure employment with a great team in a good work environment
Professional Experience Summary
Thirty four years’ experience in Engineering, Operations and Maintenance. Experienced in test, training, scheduling
and resource management, system administration, technical writing, multiple security disciplines, limited shell
scripting, and both oral and written reporting. Achieved Security + certification and maintained through April 2020.
Well versed in the use of COTS, GOTS, and vendor developed applications and systems. Experienced in - but not
limited to UNIX, LINUX and Windows environments, Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Power Point),
Dreamweaver, ColdFusion, Camtasia, Captivate, and various job specific software. My experience allows me to
quickly learn new positions and become a contributing team member. I use www.vtc.com to learn new applications
and skills. A normal size resume does not allow me the space to even cover highlights or accomplishments of the
many positions held in this field. I am adding my positions and skills; understanding it will make the document
longer than a normal resume.
Achievements
Test Engineer Level III ADF-SW Harris Corporation 2011-2016
Write and update test and operational documentation such as Test Plans & Reports, Discrepancy Reports (DR’s),
and Procedures, etcetera (etc.). Learn new systems, applications (apps), and tools in a short amount of time &
limited resources to test user interfaces, new features, and DR’s etc. Perform regression, end to end, and
DITL/stability tests on systems, apps, and tools at Site / Enterprise levels. Attend and present at test meetings. Work
with developers and customers to ensure all users are trained, fixed DR’s and new features are understood. Test in
both LINUX and Windows environments. Work with Integrators and Developers to create Test Matrix in MS Excel
to track test activities and report metrics within the “Engineering Lifecycle Process”. Performed as Transition
Activity Plan (TAP) Lead during both site and Enterprise promotes coordinating multiple sections doing the
upgrades to ensure there are no issues i.e. "out of order" steps or miscues. Though not required, obtained Security +
and maintained it through the year 2020. Use extensive experience to know when to "lead" or be a "role player" for
the good of the team & success of the mission. I use a "can do" attitude along with communications and teamwork
to achieve mission success.
Technical Trainer Level III AFCSF Harris Corporation 2004-2011
As Trainer created site training plans, user's guides, certification (cert) documentation etc, and integrated them into
site and enterprise processes. I created training for new personnel so they had a firm grasp of data flow and
acronyms which helped them to "hit the ground running" in position training; which led to quicker job cert and
contribution to mission success. Schedule and conduct training for new releases, apps, and tools. I was in charge of
personnel cert and test to levels 2 and 3 cert. I trained personnel in new system releases and apps. I maintained
employee training records. Using my own resources, I learned MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint; Camtasia, and
Captivate (etc) using them to create the first site "computer based training" courses.
Company and Site Scheduler Level III AFCSF Harris Corporation 2004-2011
As Scheduler I scheduled all company projects using MS Project which I learned using www.vtc.com (over 3,000
application, tools, & skill CBT’s). I worked with developer to create new Site scheduling tool. I developed and
implemented a new process under government direction to facilitate the scheduling of engineering tasks. I was given
responsibility by the government to schedule, de-conflict, approve, deny, or defer all work sessions performed on
site by all personnel ensuring no impact to mission on both Site and Enterprise levels. I briefed OPS Commander in
the daily OPS Meeting of Site and Enterprise engineering activities and resources affected. All these activities
required me to work closely with other contractors, sections, and sites to ensure smooth engineering activities
2. occurred without unexpected interruption to the mission. I have also served as needed by site manager to fill "at
need positions" until they could be filled; Production Engineer producing and disseminating products, OPS Engineer
as an Operator, (etc).
Software Engineer Level II AFCSF General Dynamics 2003-2004
Created and maintained web pages. Created a logging tool and an acronym tool that are still in use today. Used
www.vtc.com to learn ColdFusion and other Macromedia applications.
Section Lead Level III AFCSF Harris Corporation 1998-2003
I functioned as the OPS Section Lead on a world-wide help-desk helping customers with various system tasks and
setup. I started in concept design and - through authorization as an operational tool; and continued as Lead for two
more years. I performed System Administrator duties some of which included: new user accounts, new groups, reset
passwords, updating configuration files, troubleshooting and discrepancy resolution, backup and restore, and all
required SYSADMIN functions. We had to ensure proper security measures were observed in the dissemination of
products. When I began, the system was a prototype dissemination tool. I traveled to various customer sites showing
them how to use the tool, and how it would help them achieve their missions. I briefed multiple General Officers
(i.e. LTG Clapper), as well as Command Officers (i.e. CENTCOM, PACOM) on the benefits of using this
dissemination system. I briefed LTG King who ended up being pivotal in turning it into an Operational System used
as the primary dissemination system in the field. We continued to work with users to ensure they received up to date
information and products. We gathered user input to create new system releases incorporating their needs. I briefed
visiting users and VIP's on system use and benefits, adjusting the briefings to show them how to use it to complete
their missions. We received multiple National Level awards and recognition.
System Administrator Level II AFCSF Harris Corporation 1998-2003
As a SYSADM I was responsible for completion of production and assigned OPS and Maintenance tasks. I attended
Global Knowledge and SUN Microsystems for SGI SYSADM I & II, and SUN SYSADM I & II. I used
www.vtc.com, books, and On the Job Training (OJT) to learn the rest. I was required to monitor equipment and
configure system, create user accounts, assist in the incorporation and testing of new hardware and software, find
and create DR’s, record keeping and reporting, and conducting shift turnovers. Additional duties included running
diagnostics and other reporting programs, and draw conclusions from the results. I performed hardware and software
testing for DR resolutions. I helped install new system backup hardware and software, configured it with backup
systems and times, and used backups to reinstall lost data. I used my own resources to learn UNIX shell scripting to
use on a limited basis in my position.
