What is a verb collocation?
Collocations are words that naturally go
together in a language.
Examples:
Let’s pick up some quick food at McDonalds.
Let’s pick up some fast food at McDonalds.
Which of these sentences is correct?

What is a verb collocation?
Verb collocations are “word combinations that are used
together for a long time until one combination sounds
“right”:
Example: make a phone call
and another combination (with a similar meaning) sounds
“wrong”:
Example: do a phone call

Find the collocations:
It’s been a long day. I can’t wait to go home, take a shower, and go to bed.
We’ve just come to a decision about our next trip. Both of us are having a good
time here in Mexico, so we’ll come back to this resort again next year.
I have a problem with my computer. Can you take a look at it today?
They had another big fight. I’m worried they’ll get divorced. I’d hate to see their

  • 3. What is a verb collocation? Collocations are words that naturally go together in a language. Examples: Let’s pick up some quick food at McDonalds. Let’s pick up some fast food at McDonalds. Which of these sentences is correct? 3
  • 4. What is a verb collocation? Verb collocations are “word combinations that are used together for a long time until one combination sounds “right”: Example: make a phone call and another combination (with a similar meaning) sounds “wrong”: Example: do a phone call 4
