In English language, adding affixes to existing words (the base or root) to form new words is very common. Affixes are words or syllables added either in front or at the end of the word to obtain new words.
Prefix is placed before the root word to get the new word.
Ex.: inter + national = international
Here, prefix (inter) + national (root word) = international (obtained word).
Suffix is placed after the root word to get the new word.
Ex.: class + mate = classmate
Here, class (root word) + mate (suffix) = classmate (obtained word)

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Know the difference between aerobic and anaerobic exercises. Both should be included in the
exercise workout. An aerobic exercise is an activity designed to improve the respiratory and
circulatory systems of the body. Exercisers should do aerobic activities to develop
cardiovascular fitness. These types of activities generally do not cause one to get “out of
breath.” Usually this type of activity can be done for a long period of time without stopping.
To do aerobic exercises, warm-up with stretches, begin slowly to gradually increase heartbeat
rate and exercise at a steady, comfortable pace for 10-15 minutes. Running, swimming, and
walking are examples of aerobic activities. An anaerobic exercise is an activity done quickly
for a short period of time. The body is worked so hard that the exerciser must rest for a brief
period of time to replace oxygen or “catch his/her breath.” One must rest for a short period of
time after doing anaerobic exercises and sports. Do anaerobic exercises from 10 to 40
seconds, and then rest for 30 to 90 seconds. Repeat this process from 5 to 15 minutes.
Anaerobic exercises help build endurance for sports such as basketball, football, and soccer.

Direction (for Q.Nos. 1 - 2):
The world dismisses curiosity by calling it idle or mere idle curiosity even though curious
persons are seldom idle.Parents do their best to extinguish curiosity in their children because it
makes life difficult to be faced everyday with a string of unanswerable questions about what
makes fire hot or why grass grows. Children whose curiosity survives parental discipline are
invited to join our university. With the university, they go on asking their questions and trying to
find the answers. In the eyes of a scholar, that is what a university for. some of the questions
which the scholars ask seem to the world to be scarcely worth asking, let alone answering. they
asked questions too minute and specialised for you and me to understand without years of
explanation. If the world inquires of one of them why he wants to know the answer to a
particular question he may say especially if he is a scientist, that the answer will in some obscure
way make possible a new machine or weapon or gadget. He talks that way because he knows that
the world understands and respects utility.
But to you who are now part of the university, he will say that he wants to know the answer
simply because he does not know it, the way the mountain climber wants to climb a mountain,
simply because it is there. Similarly a historian asked by an outsider why he studies history may
come out with the argument that he has learnt to respect to report on such occasions, something
about knowledge of the past making it possible to understand the present and mould the future.
But if you really want to know why a historian studies the past, the answer is much simpler,
something happened and he would like to know what. All this does not mean that the answers
which scholars to find to their enormous consequences but these seldom form the reason for
asking the question or pursuing the answers. It is true that scholars can be put to work answering
questions for sake of the consequences as thousands are working now, for example, in search of
a cure for cancer. But this is not the primary scholars. For the consequences are usually
subordinate to the satisfication of curiosity.
4. 11. A historian really studies the past
A.to comprehend the present and to reconstruct the future

A.because they have no time
B.because they have no patience to answer them
C.because they feel that their children ask stupid questions continuously
