Vardif Oral Strip is a phosphodiesterase 5
(PDE5) inhibitor indicated for the treatment
of erectile dysfunction.
Vardenafil HCl is rapidly absorbed and
maximum concentrations after a single oral
dose is reached between 15 minutes and 2
hours in the fasted state.

➢Vardenafil Hydrochloride Oral Strip are for
use as needed. A maximum of one 20 mg strip
of Vardif can be taken in a 24 hour period.

Vardif (Vardenafil Oral Film) have to be
stored at controlled room temperature
i.e. from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F)
with excursions permitted between 15°
to 30°C (59° to 86°F).
Keep this as well as all other medicines
away from children and pets.

Cardiovascular Effects: Patients must not
use Vardenafil Hydrochloride Oral Strips if
sex is inadvisable due to cardiovascular
status.
Risk of Priapism: In case that an erection
lasts more than 4 hours, the patient should
seek immediate medical assistance.
Effects on the Eye: Patients should stop use
of Vardif Oral Strip, and seek medical
attention in the event of sudden loss of vision
in one or both eyes, which could be a sign of
nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic
neuropathy (NAION).

Vardif should be used with caution, and only when
the anticipated benefits outweigh the risks, in
patients with a history of NAION. Patients with a
“crowded” optic disc may also be at an increased
risk of NAION.
Sudden Hearing Loss: Patients should stop using
Vardif and seek medical attention in the event of
sudden decrease or loss in hearing.
Alpha-Blockers: Caution is advised when PDE5
inhibitors are co-administered with alpha-blockers
like Vardenafil Oral Film. In certain patients,
concomitant use of these two medicine classes can
decrease blood pressure significantly leading to
symptomatic hypotension (for example, fainting).

QT Prolongation: Patients with
congenital QT syndrome or taking class
IA or III antiarrhythmics should avoid
using Vardif Oral Strips.

Contraindications
Vardif oral film is contraindicated in patients with
a hypersensitivity to Vardenafil Hydrochloride or
any other component of this medication.
Valif Tablets should not be taken by patients
being treated for angina (chest pain) or other
heart conditions with certain medicines called
nitrates.
It should also not be used by men taking any
nitrate medicines or the unapproved drug amyl
nitrite.

13. Vardenafil Oral Strips Side Effects

➢Most common side effects observed in 2% or
more of patients undergoing treatment with this
medicine are headache, flushing, nasal congestion,
dyspepsia, sinusitis, flu syndrome, dizziness,
increased creatine kinase, nausea, back pain.
➢The other side effects are:
➢Body as a whole: allergic edema and angioedema,
feeling unwell, allergic reactions, chest pain
➢Auditory: tinnitus, vertigo
➢Cardiovascular: palpitation, tachycardia, angina
pectoris, myocardial infarction, ventricular
tachyarrhythmias, hypotension
➢Digestive: nausea, gastrointestinal and abdominal
pain, dry mouth, diarrhea, gastroesophageal reflux
disease, gastritis, vomiting, increase in
transaminases

➢Musculoskeletal: increase in creatine
phosphokinase (CPK), increased muscle tone
and cramping, myalgia
➢Nervous: paresthesia and dysesthesia,
somnolence, sleep disorder, syncope, amnesia,
seizure
➢Respiratory: dyspnea, sinus congestion
➢Skin and appendages: erythema, rash
➢Ophthalmologic: visual disturbance, ocular
hyperemia, visual color distortions, eye pain and
eye discomfort, photophobia, increase in
intraocular pressure, conjunctivitis
➢Urogenital: increase in erection, priapism

15. Overdose

The maximum dose of Vardenafil HCl for which
human data is available is a single 120 mg dose
administered to healthy male volunteers. The
majority of these subjects experienced reversible
back pain/myalgia and/or “abnormal vision.”
Single doses up to 80 mg Vardenafil and multiple
doses up to 40 mg Vardenafil HCl (Vardif)
administered once daily over 4 weeks were
tolerated without producing serious adverse side
effects. When 40 mg of Vardenafil HCl was
administered twice daily, cases of severe back
pain were observed.
No muscle or neurological toxicity was identified.

16. Vardif Overdose

In cases of Vardif overdose, standard
supportive measures must be taken as
required.
Renal dialysis is not expected to
accelerate clearance as Vardenafil HCl is
highly bound to plasma proteins and not
significantly eliminated in the urine.

has been classified by the US FDA as
Pregnancy Category B.
Vardif is not indicated for use in women.
There are no studies of Vardenafil
Hydrochloride use in pregnant
women.
