(HCC), Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma
(RCC), treatment of patients with locally
advanced or metastatic Differentiated
Thyroid Carcinoma refractory to radioactive
iodine.

➢400 mg (2 tablets) orally twice daily
without food.
➢Treatment interruption and/or dose
reduction may be needed to
manage suspected adverse
reactions of this medicine. Dose may
be reduced to 400 mg once daily or
to 400 mg every other day.

Generic Sorafenib Tosylate (Soranib
tablets ) have to be stored at controlled
room temperature i.e. from 20°C to 25°C
(68°F to 77°F) with excursions permitted
between 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F).
Keep this as well as all other medicines
away from children and pets.

Cardiac ischemia and/or infarction may
occur. Consider temporary or permanent
discontinuation of Soranib tablets.
Bleeding may occur. If bleeding necessitates
medical intervention, consider
discontinuation of Generic Sorafenib
Tosylate tablets.
Hypertension usually occurred early in the
course of treatment and was managed with
antihypertensive therapy. Monitor blood
pressure weekly during the first 6 weeks and
periodically thereafter and treat, as required.

Hand-foot skin reaction and rash are common.
Management may include topical therapies for
symptomatic relief, temporary treatment
interruption and/or dose modification, or in
severe or persistent cases, permanent
discontinuation.
Gastrointestinal perforation is an uncommon
adverse reaction. In the event of a
gastrointestinal perforation, Soranib therapy
should be discontinued.
Temporary interruption of Soranib therapy is
recommended in patients undergoing major
surgical procedures.

Caution is recommended when co-
administering substances
metabolized/eliminated predominantly by the
UGT1A1 pathway (for example, Irinotecan).
Caution is recommended when co-
administering Docetaxel.
Caution is recommended when co-
administering Doxorubicin.
Nexavar may cause fetal harm when
administered to a pregnant woman.
Women of childbearing potential should be
advised to avoid becoming pregnant while on
Soranib tablets.

Contraindications
Soranib is contraindicated in patients
with a hypersensitivity to Sorafenib
Tosylate or any other component of this
medication.
Soranib in combination with Carboplatin
and Paclitaxel is contraindicated in
patients with squamous cell lung cancer.

➢The most common side effects with
an incidence rate of 20% or higher,
which were considered to be related to
Generic Sorafenib Tosylate (Soranib
Tablets) are fatigue, weight loss,
rash/desquamation, hand-foot skin
reaction, alopecia, diarrhea, anorexia,
nausea and abdominal pain.

➢During post-marketing the following
side effects have been reported:
➢Dermatologic: Stevens-Johnson
syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis
(TEN)
➢Hypersensitivity: Angioedema
➢Musculoskeletal: Rhabdomyolysis,
osteonecrosis of the jaw
➢Respiratory: Interstitial lung disease-
like events (which may have a life-
threatening or fatal outcome)

15. Soranib Tablets Overdose

The highest dose of Sorafenib studied
clinically was 800 mg twice daily. The
adverse events observed at this dose
were primarily diarrhoea and
dermatological events.

There is no specific treatment for
Sorafenib tablets overdose. In the
case of a suspected overdose,
Generic Sorafenib Tosylate (Soranib
Tablets) should be stopped and
supportive care instituted where
necessary.

Sorafenib Tosylate (Soranib Tablets) has been
classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy
Category D.
Based on its mechanism of action and findings
in animals , Sorafenib Tosylate may cause
fetal harm when administered to a pregnant
woman. There are no adequate and well-
controlled studies in pregnant women using
Sorafenib Tosylate (Soranib Tablets).
Women of child bearing potential should be
advised to avoid becoming pregnant while on
Soranib tablets.
