Accreditation Certificate Presented
by President of Measurement Canada
Measurement Canada, the governing body which administers and enforces the
Electricity and Gas Inspection Act, the Weights and Measures Act and is responsible for
regulating and safeguarding the accuracy of trade measurement throughout Canada,
granted accreditation to Landis+Gyr for the verification of electricity meters. A formal
presentation of the Measurement Canada Certificate was made by Alan Johnston,
President of Measurement Canada, on May 2nd at the Reynosa Manufacturing Facility.
"I am pleased to accredit Landis+Gyr to certify electricity meters devices on behalf of
Measurement Canada. This is a significant achievement as meeting the requirements of
Measurement Canada's Accreditation Program requires substantial commitment and
effort. It is also the first time a company outside Canada and the United States has
been accredited under the program. Accredited companies such as Landis+Gyr are an
important part of ensuring accurate measurement in the marketplace. Measurement
Canada is pleased to work together with them, sharing our expertise throughout the
accreditation process," expressed Johnston.
This approval allows Landis+Gyr to audit, verify and seal meters on behalf of
Measurement Canada at the company’s Reynosa, Mexico facility and marks a milestone
as the first facility, not only outside of the United States, but in Mexico, to earn a Seal
Accreditation.

Customer Spotlight - WE Energies, Wisconsin
Serving the major metropolitan, suburban and rural residential areas of Milwaukee, WI,
created a challenge for WE Energies as to what meter would provide them with the
most reliability and flexibility with AMI integration. During 2004-05, they began one of
three deployment phases of the Landis+Gyr FOCUS™ meter with Cellnet Interleave
technology, providing increased reliability, with technology that works well in both
densely populated and more rural areas. Because of its ability to provide transmission
of data through high-power fixed network, real-time on-demand/TOU, and LP reads
and low-power mobile functions, this endpoint also provides accuracy, safety, and
easier meter access through the drive-by mobile system. Phase I deployments
consisted mostly of the metropolitan Milwaukee area. WE Energies continued their
Phase II deployment in the suburban areas of Milwaukee in 2005-06, and will continue
with Phase III, the majority being rural deployments beginning in 2007.

FOCUS Hunt AirPoint High Power
Landis+Gyr Inc. and Hunt Technologies have announced the release of the AirPoint
FOCUS High Power endpoint for mobile automated meter reading (AMR) systems.
This solid-state endpoint is fully compatible with a number of mobile data collection
systems, including Itron Mobile Collection System™ 1.0 and 2.0, Schlumberger SLB
Collection System and the Neptune Collection System. With selectable message types
and bubble up rates, it also offers the flexibility to optimize its use in customer specific
applications.
Seamlessly integrated into Landis+Gyr’s FOCUS™ meter, the Hunt AirPoint™ module
allows utilities to program a specific message “bubble-up” rate with selectable values of
6, 15, and 30 seconds. Its high-power transmission provides a range of up to 2.5 miles
or more based on topography, allowing it to be configured for low, mid and high
density mobile and fixed network environments.

S4e Hunt TS1
The Hunt TS1 S4e polyphase endpoint, a solid-state advanced metering solution for
commercial/industrial deployments is now available.
This new endpoint combines the data storage and communication capabilities of Hunt
Technology's TS1 module with the powerful functionality of the S4e meter. The module
can be retrofit into S4 and S4e meters by the customer or ordered as a factory-
integrated endpoint.
The TS1 S4e endpoint provides a daily direct register read using Hunt’s TS1 system
power line carrier technology. The TS1 module reads the meter register to transmit
metrology values such as kWh, kW, two TOU rates, reactive energy values for KVAR(h),
KVA(h), and power factor. The endpoint comes equipped with field-configurable voltage
ranges from 120v to 240/277v, and supports net metering.
