In this paper we describe a case study where researchers in the social sciences (n=19) assess topical relevance for controlled search terms, journal names and author names which have been compiled automatically by bibliometric-enhanced information retrieval (IR) services. We call these bibliometric-enhanced IR services Search Term Recommender (STR), Journal Name Recommender (JNR) and Author Name Recommender (ANR) in this paper. The researchers in our study (practitioners, PhD students and postdocs) were asked to assess the top n pre-processed recommendations from each recommender for specific research topics which have been named by them in an interview before the experiment. Our results show clearly that the presented search term, journal name and author name recommendations are highly relevant to the researchers’ topic and can easily be integrated for search in Digital Libraries. The average precision for top ranked recommendations is 0.75 for author names, 0.74 for search terms and 0.73 for journal names. The relevance distribution differs largely across topics and researcher types. Practitioners seem to favor author name recommendations while postdocs have rated author name recommendations the lowest. In the experiment the small postdoc group (n=3) favor journal name recommendations.

This presentation summarizes an approach for classifying research topics based on their momentum and recognition over time in a scientific literature. It uses topic modeling to identify topics in a corpus and two measures of paper recognition - PageRank and RALEX - to calculate topical recognition. Topics are then categorized into three types based on comparisons of their recognition measures over time: persistent topics with lasting recognition, withering topics becoming less recognized, and booming topics gaining recognition recently. The approach aims to provide insights into trends and the evolution of topics within a domain.
ICPSR Secure Data Service: Broadening Access. Reducing Risk.
ICPSR Secure Data Services provides tools and processes for managing restricted-use data through contracts and electronic data dissemination while maintaining security and privacy. The system currently manages over 1,250 active contracts across 500 institutions for 150 studies, with 25-35 new contracts added monthly. 631 studies are now or will soon be available for electronic contracting, though currently only 47 studies utilize the electronic tracking system. The system allows researchers to find restricted data, complete contracting, and analyze data within a secure virtual environment without transferring files between the virtual machine and local computer. Virtual video labs also allow for electronic dissemination of restricted video data.

This presentation summarizes an approach for classifying research topics based on their momentum and recognition over time in a scientific literature. It uses topic modeling to identify topics in a corpus and two measures of paper recognition - PageRank and RALEX - to calculate topical recognition. Topics are then categorized into three types based on comparisons of their recognition measures over time: persistent topics with lasting recognition, withering topics becoming less recognized, and booming topics gaining recognition recently. ICPSR Secure Data Service: Broadening Access. Reducing Risk.
ICPSR Secure Data Services provides tools and processes for managing restricted-use data through contracts and electronic data dissemination while maintaining security and privacy. The system currently manages over 1,250 active contracts across 500 institutions for 150 studies, with 25-35 new contracts added monthly. 631 studies are now or will soon be available for electronic contracting, though currently only 47 studies utilize the electronic tracking system. The system allows researchers to find restricted data, complete contracting, and analyze data within a secure virtual environment without transferring files between the virtual machine and local computer. Virtual video labs also allow for electronic dissemination of restricted video data.

Moving an Archive from Tape to Disk: A Case-Study at ICPSR
This document summarizes ICPSR's efforts to transition its archive from tape to disk storage between 2006-2008. It describes ICPSR's mission to collect and preserve social science data. In 2006, ICPSR digitally preserved objects on tape but lacked automation. A new plan automated processes, moved all digital content from tape to disk by 2007, and discarded unnecessary paper records. This transition reduced costs while improving access and preservation for ICPSR staff. While progress was made, further work is still needed on a proper digital preservation system and long-term storage of larger digital objects and restricted-access materials.

In this project, you will be expected to do a comprehensive literature search and survey, select and
study a specific topic in one subject area of data mining and its applications in business
intelligence and analytics (BIA), and write a research paper on the selected topic by yourself. The
research paper you are required to write can be a detailed comprehensive study on some specific
topic or the original research work that will have been done by yourself.
Requirements and Instructions for the Research Paper:
1. The objective of the paper should be very clear about subject, scope, domain, and the goals to be
achieved.
2. The paper should address the important advanced and critical issues in a specific area of data
mining and its applications in business intelligence and analytics. Your research paper
should emphasize not only breadth of coverage, but also depth of coverage in the specific area.
3. The research paper should give the measurable conclusions and future research directions (this is
your contribution).
4. It might be beneficial to review or browse through about 15 to 20 relevant technical articles
before you make decision on the topic of the research project.
5. The research paper can be:
a. Literature review papers on data mining techniques and their applications for business
intelligence and analytics.
b. Study and examination of data mining techniques in depth with technical details.
c. Applied research that applies a data mining method to solve a real world application in terms
of the domain of BIA.
6. The research paper should reflect the quality at certain academic research level.
7. The paper should be about at least 3000-3500 words double space.
8. The paper should include adequate abstraction or introduction, and reference list.
9. Please write the paper in your words and statements, and please give the names of
references, citations, and resources of reference materials if you want to use the statements from
other reference articles.

10. From the systematic study point of view, you may want to read a list of technical papers from
relevant magazines, journals, conference proceedings and theses in the area of the topic you
choose.
11. For the format and style of your research paper, please make reference to CEC Dissertation
Guide (http://cec.nova.edu/doctoral/documents/nsu-cec-dissertation-guides.html), Publication
Manual of APA, or the format of ACM and IEEE journal publications.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
