Topic: Poverty

2. How people tackle poverty
• There are different people or organizations
around the world who are trying to fight
poverty and prevent it around the world by
donating food, money and clothing.
• There are also causes to it.

3. Cause #1
• The first cause of poverty could be due to the
government. The government may not care
about its people by not investing in improving
the food industry to make more food for its
people. For example; North Korea.

4. Cause #2
• National Debt could also be another reason of
world poverty. For example, Greece owes
many countries a lot of money. Unable to pay
back, they fell into poverty and the people in
the country are suffering.

5. Organization 1
• Boys’ Brigade Share-A-Gift. This organisation
helps poor families in Singapore by delivering
free goods at their doorstep so that they can
at least survive a month or so.

6. Organization 2
• FAS. Financial Assistance Scheme. This is
found in S’pore. It is used to help people to
get out of poverty by giving them money from
the government.
