3. What is Poverty?
Poverty is the state of one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material
possessions
People suffering from poverty :
• Do not have enough money to meet basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter
• Are not able to participate in recreational activities
• Are much less educated and vulnerable to diseases
