Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14th. It is a holiday centered around love where both children and adults exchange cards, candy, and gifts to show affection. Children have Valentine's Day parties at school where they give cards and chocolates to their classmates. Popular gifts exchanged include boxes of chocolate candy, small gifts paired with cards, and flowers, especially roses which are traditionally given from husbands or boyfriends to wives or girlfriends. Cupid, the symbol of love, is said to make people fall in love with the first person they see if he strikes them with one of his arrows.
