The Legend 	This pyramid is known as the Pyramid of the Magician or Pyramid of the Dwarf because the legend is about a magical dwarf who was born out of a egg, grew into an adult in one day and built this pyramid in a single night to prove that he should be the future leader and to escape execution.
Uxmal Time Period ,[object Object]
 Peak period between 600-900 A.D. Many sources disagree on the actual peak period. ,[object Object]
Resources and Agrigulture Stared as a farming city in 800 B.C. The city is not near any rivers or water sources. They grew maize and beans on terraces.
Society and War Generally a peaceful city; had an alliance with neighboring cities such as Kabah and Nojpat. Not much is known about the society, but politics were important, the nunnery served as a school, and religion was important as well.
Temples, Pyramids, and Buildings The Pyramid of the Magician is 117 feet tall and made of five temples built on top of each other.

Religion and Sacrifices  They worshiped the God Chac. They honored him with sacrifices that took place at the top of the Pyramid of the Magician.

Calendar and Sports Played the traditional Mayan ball game.  It followed the traditional Mayan calendar.
Downfall City was abandoned after about 950 A.D.  A likely cause was social revolt.
How they know/ what they found Uxmal is home to the best preserve ruins in Mexico. Most of the buildings are still standing and in good condition. Not much has been found about culture and society of the city.
