To add sound to a PowerPoint presentation, insert audio by choosing "Record Audio" under the Insert menu. This will open a recording box where you can name and record audio directly in PowerPoint using the record and stop buttons. Place the recorded audio on the appropriate slide for playback. When presenting, click the sound icon to play the audio at that point in the presentation. Using sound in PowerPoint allows for easier editing than screencasting and engages the audience during the presentation.

1. Click on “Insert” in the top bar
2. Choose “Audio,” all the way on the right
3. Choose “Record Audio”

1. Once you click “Record Audio,” a recording box will come up.
Name this recording (I’ve named each by the title on the slide), click
on the red button to start recording, and the stop button to stop.
2. Then place the recorded audio where you would like it on the slide.
Try to keep this consistent so that your audience knows where to find
your sound.

4. PRESENTING WITH SOUND
The advantage of using sound in power point over screencasting is
that it is a little easier to edit. Make sure everything is how you want
it before your presentation!
As you present, you will click on the sound icon that appeared after
your recording to hear the audio.
