Hello All,
It is time for the second Tokyo Azure Meetup!
As a natural continuation of our first topic, we will proceed with Big Data.
Until recently you needed to learn new language or master new concepts in order get started with Big Data.
Moreover, you needed to spend a lot of time setting up infrastructure that will meet the business demands for Big Data processing.
Not any more!
If you know C# and T-SQL you are ready to become Big Data master!
Public cloud and especially Microsoft Azure are very well suited for working with Big Data.
Join us for our next event and and I can assure you that after the session you will be ready to start working with Big Data.
And maybe you are asking why this is important.
I believe that we don't have choice but build smart applications and get as much possible insights from the data we collect from various sources in order to take the best business decisions and please our customers.
Today we have so much data available publicly or coming from our customers and it is very challenging to process it and turn it into valuable business asset.
Not any more!
Join for our next meetup and you will see how Microsoft create amazing opportunity for each .Net developer to become Big Data expert and every company to start using Big Data to accelerate its growth.
I have been working closely with the product team developing U-SQL language that empower Azure Data Lake Analytics, which is one of the processing engines for Azure Data Lake and I will be very happy to share my experience with you!
See you very soon!

Amazon Redshift, Customer Acquisition Cost & Advertising ROI presented with A...Amazon Web Services
In today's world, consumer habits change fast and marketing decisions need to be made within seconds, not days. Delivering engaging advertising experiences requires real time, high performing architectures that provide digital advertisers the ability to measure and improve the performance of their campaigns and tie them more closely to corporate goals. The insights gleaned from the massive amounts of data collected can then be used to dynamically adjust media spend and creative execution for optimal performance. The AWS Cloud enables you to deliver marketing content and advertisements with the levels of availability, performance, and personalization that your customers expect. Plus, AWS lowers your costs. Join us to learn about how big data and low latency / high performing architectures are changing the game for digital advertising.
AWS Glue is a fully managed extract, transform, and load (ETL) service that makes it easy for customers to prepare and load their data for analytics. You can create and run an ETL job with a few clicks in the AWS Management Console. You simply point AWS Glue to your data stored on AWS, and AWS Glue discovers your data and stores the associated metadata (e.g. table definition and schema) in the AWS Glue Data Catalog. Once cataloged, your data is immediately searchable, queryable, and available for ETL. AWS Glue generates the code to execute your data transformations and data loading processes.

Netflix - Elevating Your Data Platform - TDWI Keynote - San Diego 2015Kurt Brown
Are you getting the most out of your data platform? The technologies you choose are important, but even more so is how you put them into practice. Part philosophy and part pragmatic reality, I'll dive into our thinking at Netflix on technology selection and trade-offs, challenging everything (constructively), providing building blocks and paved paths, staffing, and more. I'll also talk through our tech stack, which includes many big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, and Presto), traditional BI tools (e.g. Teradata, MicroStrategy, and Tableau), and custom tools / services (e.g. our big data portal and API). My hope (and expectation!) is that you'll leave with an arsenal of new ideas on the best way to get things done.
Anatomy of Search Relevance: From Data To ActionSaïd Radhouani
Relevance denotes how well a search result satisfies the user information need. In addition to the search engine components (i.e., indexer and query parser), there are many other components that impact relevance. e.g., user understanding , data optimization, domain knowledge, etc. Improving relevance remains the main and most challenging goal of each search engine. Indeed, relevance can be subjective, therefore hard to measure and to improve. In this talk, Saïd will demystify the concept of relevance by defining its main components. For each component, he will present the technology enablers, the data, and processes that are required in order to measure and improve relevance. In this talk, attendees will learn how to provide a relevant user experience and track it over time.
We'll take a look at the Salesforce platform and explore how it can help your nonprofit deliver better on its mission through constituent management, donor management, volunteer management, program management, and more. Digital-Warriors-Marketing Roadmap with Big Data AnalyticsJaysonBowden
When the data speaks, why should you listen?
Big data has become a buzzword among marketers all over the world and I am frankly sick of all the buzz without concrete value. In this context, my goal is to make Big Data real and tangible for marketers so you can realize the disruptive shift that is upon us. Every marketer is familiar with the 4 P’s of marketing (Product, Price, Place, and Promotion) so we will start our discussion in a way that begins to extend these concepts. I like to describe these as ‘The New 4 of P’s of Marketing with Big Data: Personalization, Performance, Prediction, and Privacy’
Governments around the globe are working to make data easy for the public to discover, access and use. This is fueling entrepreneurship and economic growth, promoting innovation and scientific discovery, increasing operational efficiencies, reducing costs, improving the delivery of services to the public, and driving increased transparency and accountability. In this webinar, you will learn about common open data use cases on AWS, including turnkey open data catalog solutions, many of which you can launch with one click from the AWS Marketplace.
