Edit your organizational details
Organizational name and phone number
Bloomerang uses
your contact
information in emails
and letters that you
create in
Bloomerang, and in
Bloomerang-hosted
forms.
Organizational email
Bloomerang sends
notification emails to
this email address when
someone fills out an
online form.
TIP: Use an email
address from your
website's domain. For
example, use
fundraiser@example.org
rather than a Gmail
email address.
Organizational website address and address
Add your physical
address. This field is
not optional.
Bloomerang
automatically adds your
website address to the
bottom of email
messages. This is an
optional field.
Organizational social media info
Enter your Facebook
page, Twitter handle,
and LinkedIn page.
Bloomerang uses this
information for social
media buttons on
Bloomerang-hosted
forms.
Organizational NTEE Code
The National Taxonomy of
Exempt Entities (NTEE) system is
used by the IRS and NCCS to
classify nonprofit organizations. It
is also used by the Foundation
Center to classify both grants
and grant recipients (typically
nonprofits or governments). It is
also used to indicate the type of
population served and "auspice"
codes to indicate religious or
governmental affiliation.

To check your NTWW code, use
Guidestar.
Organizational fiscal year start
By default, the fiscal year
begins January 1 and ends
December 31. If your fiscal
year does not start on January
1, you can change it in
Bloomerang.
Bloomerang uses your fiscal
year in reports, and to
calculate the Amount Raised
This Fiscal Year metric on the
Home page.
Two-factor
Authentication
For added security, we recommend that you turn on
two-factor authentication (2FA). This optional
security feature that adds an extra layer of
protection for your data. If you have Administrator
permissions, you can turn on two-factor
authentication.
After you turn on two-factor authentication, all of
your users must complete two separate
authentication steps to sign in:
● Enter a username and password
● Enter a verification code
You can also turn off two-factor authentication.
Two-factor Authentication
To sign in with two-factor authentication:
1. Enter your Username and Password.
2. Click Log In. Bloomerang emails you a verification
code from no-reply@bloomerang-mail.com. This
code is valid for a limited time.
3. If you don't receive the email:
a. Check your spam folder and filtered folders.
b. If you can't find the email, on the verification
screen, click Send Another. The new
verification code invalidates previous
verification codes.
Two-factor Authentication
1. On the two-factor authentication page, enter the
Verification Code. You can try to enter a
validation code up to six times. After the sixth
incorrect attempt, you are temporarily locked out
of your account.
2. (Optional) Click Trusted device. Don’t ask again
for 30 days. If you sign in from the same device
and browser, you don't have to enter a
verification code for 30 days. This option stores a
cookie on your device.
Database
Export
To export your data:
1. Click Settings .
2. Click Organization.
3. In the Database Export section, click Create New
Export. The export might several or more minutes to
finish.
Warning: Stay on this page while the export runs. If
you leave this page before export the finishes, you
must create a new export.
4. Click Download.
The DataExport-[date].zip file downloads to your
computer. Open the .ZIP file, which contains several
.CSV files.
Most of your data is exported. This data is not exported:
● Email and letter templates and their data
● Engagement scores
● Built-in interaction fields for Volunteer Activity and
Volunteer Hours
● Groups
NCOA

● Partnership with TrueGivers
● National Change of Address and
Deceased information
● Can opt into getting other
demographic information as well
● Free with subscription, but you must
activate it
● Updates nightly
Username rules
○ Unique across all Bloomerang
databases.
○ Letters and numbers with no
spaces.
○ Cannot be an email address.
○ Only the following can be used:
[ @ ^ $ . ! ` - # + ' ~ _ ]
Permission Levels
Admin User
Administrator users have full access to the
system and may:
● Access the main Settings section
● Customize the Donor Retention filters
● Access the Billing portal
● Access the Duplicate Constituents page
● Access Kindful Fundraising Tools
Administrators may also add new standard
users and change their permissions.
Standard Users
In the Bloomerang web application, Standard
users have these permissions:
● May add or edit constituents, transactions,
and reports
● May import data and bulk update transaction
campaigns, appeals, and funds
● May create and send emails and letters
● May switch between the default and custom
view of the Donor Retention wheel after
custom filters are set
● May access the Tweets and Mentions under
the Social Hub
● May access the Duplicate Constituents page
● Cannot access the main Settings section
● Cannot access Kindful Fundraising Tools
New User Permissions
What is the
change and
why did we
make it?
● The change: We are launching a
new user permission that will
prevent standard users from seeing
constituent’s giving information.
● Why we made it: The new user
permission allows you to give access
to more users without them being
able to see giving information. This
provides more security around
giving information.

  • 7. Organizational name and phone number Bloomerang uses your contact information in emails and letters that you create in Bloomerang, and in Bloomerang-hosted forms.
  • 8. Organizational email Bloomerang sends notification emails to this email address when someone fills out an online form. TIP: Use an email address from your website's domain. For example, use fundraiser@example.org rather than a Gmail email address.
  • 9. Organizational website address and address Add your physical address. This field is not optional. Bloomerang automatically adds your website address to the bottom of email messages. This is an optional field.
  • 10. Organizational social media info Enter your Facebook page, Twitter handle, and LinkedIn page. Bloomerang uses this information for social media buttons on Bloomerang-hosted forms.
  • 11. Organizational NTEE Code The National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) system is used by the IRS and NCCS to classify nonprofit organizations. It is also used by the Foundation Center to classify both grants and grant recipients (typically nonprofits or governments). It is also used to indicate the type of population served and "auspice" codes to indicate religious or governmental affiliation. View a full list of codes here. To check your NTWW code, use Guidestar.
  • 12. Organizational fiscal year start By default, the fiscal year begins January 1 and ends December 31. If your fiscal year does not start on January 1, you can change it in Bloomerang. Bloomerang uses your fiscal year in reports, and to calculate the Amount Raised This Fiscal Year metric on the Home page.
  • 13. Two-factor Authentication For added security, we recommend that you turn on two-factor authentication (2FA). This optional security feature that adds an extra layer of protection for your data. If you have Administrator permissions, you can turn on two-factor authentication. After you turn on two-factor authentication, all of your users must complete two separate authentication steps to sign in: ● Enter a username and password ● Enter a verification code You can also turn off two-factor authentication.
  • 14. Two-factor Authentication To sign in with two-factor authentication: 1. Enter your Username and Password. 2. Click Log In. Bloomerang emails you a verification code from no-reply@bloomerang-mail.com. This code is valid for a limited time. 3. If you don't receive the email: a. Check your spam folder and filtered folders. b. If you can't find the email, on the verification screen, click Send Another. The new verification code invalidates previous verification codes.
  • 15. Two-factor Authentication 1. On the two-factor authentication page, enter the Verification Code. You can try to enter a validation code up to six times. After the sixth incorrect attempt, you are temporarily locked out of your account. 2. (Optional) Click Trusted device. Don’t ask again for 30 days. If you sign in from the same device and browser, you don't have to enter a verification code for 30 days. This option stores a cookie on your device.
  • 16. Database Export To export your data: 1. Click Settings . 2. Click Organization. 3. In the Database Export section, click Create New Export. The export might several or more minutes to finish. Warning: Stay on this page while the export runs. If you leave this page before export the finishes, you must create a new export. 4. Click Download. The DataExport-[date].zip file downloads to your computer. Open the .ZIP file, which contains several .CSV files. Most of your data is exported. This data is not exported: ● Email and letter templates and their data ● Engagement scores ● Built-in interaction fields for Volunteer Activity and Volunteer Hours ● Groups
  • 17. NCOA Processing (National Change of Address) ● Partnership with TrueGivers ● National Change of Address and Deceased information ● Can opt into getting other demographic information as well ● Free with subscription, but you must activate it ● Updates nightly
  • 18. Username rules ○ Unique across all Bloomerang databases. ○ Letters and numbers with no spaces. ○ Cannot be an email address. ○ Only the following can be used: [ @ ^ $ . ! ` - # + ' ~ _ ]

Admin User Administrator users have full access to the system and may: ● Access the main Settings section ● Customize the Donor Retention filters ● Access the Billing portal ● Access the Duplicate Constituents page ● Access Kindful Fundraising Tools Administrators may also add new standard users and change their permissions.

Standard Users In the Bloomerang web application, Standard users have these permissions: ● May add or edit constituents, transactions, and reports ● May import data and bulk update transaction campaigns, appeals, and funds ● May create and send emails and letters ● May switch between the default and custom view of the Donor Retention wheel after custom filters are set ● May access the Tweets and Mentions under the Social Hub ● May access the Duplicate Constituents page ● Cannot access the main Settings section ● Cannot access Kindful Fundraising Tools
  • 23. What is the change and why did we make it? ● The change: We are launching a new user permission that will prevent standard users from seeing constituent’s giving information. ● Why we made it: The new user permission allows you to give access to more users without them being able to see giving information. This provides more security around giving information.
