Abstract: Implementation of Information & Communication Technology has changed t he way people
access and communication information. Users want easy and instant access to relevant information.
So putting pressure on library professionals to think out of the box for meeting their information
needs. Application of mobile phones to provide library and information services are significant step in
this direction. The development of mobile technology has resulted in shifting the academic
environment from traditional to mobile learning setting. This paper high-light the assumption of
mobile technology in library services, its purpose, literature review various devices, advantages,
disadvantages and prerequisites for implementing mobile based services etc.

Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) is a method of acquiring knowledge using electronic media which is gained using electronic media which is gaining recognition among students. This requires access to computers and considerable awareness on information technology. Previous empirical studies have underscored the important roles of instructional materials in the classroom studies. The objective of this study was to determine technological factors affecting computer aided learning programs among students attending Kenya Medical Training College, Nairobi campus. This study was an analytical study, the target population was 4,490 KMTC Nairobi Campus students. The study utilized structured questionnaires for 263 respondents, analysis was done through SPSS, Ms Excel and Ms Word software’s with univariate
With the internet becoming essential for education, communication, livelihoods and government services and entitlements, access to the internet is no longer a privilege or luxury. Those who do not have access to the internet (or have rudimentary or limited access) will fall further and further behind in the digital age. The CCDS study examines the extent of digital inequality in a rapidly-expanding Indian metropolis and explores the barriers to internet access for the poor and marginalised.

For What Purpose Students Want to Use Library Services over Mobile Phones - 81.18% respondents wanted to get information about recent arrivals in library. - 68.23% were interested to get information about important websites on their area of interest. - 68.23% wanted to access e-books and e- journals. - 45.89% students were interested to get information about library rules and regulations through mobile phones.
