Case study :
A researcher is doing
research over emotions of
people in organization by
interviewing a employee in
Australia
At first the Interviewer asked
Laura about her workplace.
Laura described her
workplace environment to be
very cold .
Laura showed Illusory
correlation with the weather.
Interviewer asked Laura about the
widespread atmosphere in her
organization
Laura: anger ,hatred towards other staff.
This reflects the deviant behavior of
the employees in her organizations
Interviewer :Do manager use fear tactics
towards the employees?
Laura replied that no one feel free to do
anything in the organization because
the employees are afraid of being fired.
It shows that the employees
doesn‟t have job security also.
Interviewer asked Laura about her
surviving tactics..
Laura answered that she has
catered her emotion to survive in it.
Here Laura has adjusted to this
situation as her manager does not
influence her mood.
Interviewer asks Laura whether she
has to hide her emotions.
Laura replied that managers don‟t
like to see emotions of employees.
Due to lack of effective leader Laura
could not get emotional help.
Interviewer : How do you go along?
Laura wants to show her true
emotions but to secure his job
and money she can‟t do it.
She can‟t show her intense
feeling towards someone.
Interviewer asks Laura whether she
will object against this system.
Laura told that it may be unreasoning
revenge but someone needs to do it.
As she is not satisfy with her
manager‟s attitude so she takes
such decisions.
Interviewer : Do you ever find this
gets to you?
Initially Laura cared about it but later on
she starts ignoring it.
Laura‟s emotional attachment
towards the company is fading
slowly.
Interviewer : DO you intend to keep
working here
Laura replied that she doesn‟t want to
be in the organization she had lost her
interest although this was never her goal
but the environment of the organization
forced her to do so .
This showed that the organization is
losing its employee interest towards the
work due to the environment created
due to the anger of the its manager
Interviewer : is there any upside of working
here?
Laura replied that she is much better now to
answer this she could make people in
place in her 3 sentence and she fights
instead of walking away
This reflect positive attitude of a employee
to fight
to get their right rather than living with such
situation

serve to protect her ??
 Yes
 She is not been able to enjoy her job
because of the environment which is : cold
and hostile .
 Moreover the General Manager‟s saying
“Nobody‟s indispensable ” is really
discouraging and it can kill the creativeness
of the employees like Laura
 So, to survive in that environment she must
display the emotions that are not actually felt
by her .
Q: Does she intend to keep working there ? Does
she ever rebel against the system?
Why does she go along ?
 No, but because it‟s her job and she need the
money.
 Manager don‟t like people being happy , so
you just annoy them by being happy .
 It‟s pretty vindictive and manipulative but you
just need to do that .
Q: Assuming that Laura‟s description is accurate
, how would you react to the organization‟s
culture ?
 we should have strategies for handling
difficult situations LIKE:
 No reaction to the abuse and criticism
 Always discuss instead of ignoring
 Maintaining good relationship
 Focus on your job
 Enhance the performance by comparison
Q: Research shows that acts of co-workers(37%) and
management(22%) cause more negative emotions for
employees than do acts of customers(7%)
what can Laura‟s company do to change its emotional
climate ?
 Managers can:
 Motivate the employees time to time to that
they can work more enthusiastically
 Appreciate the work of his employees and
reward them
 Create a friendly environment
 Resolve the problems related to the employees
 Create a feeling of co-operation.
 Be frank enough to talk freely to his employees
..

  • 3. Case study : A researcher is doing research over emotions of people in organization by interviewing a employee in Australia
  • 4. At first the Interviewer asked Laura about her workplace. Laura described her workplace environment to be very cold . Laura showed Illusory correlation with the weather.
  • 5. Interviewer asked Laura about the widespread atmosphere in her organization Laura: anger ,hatred towards other staff. This reflects the deviant behavior of the employees in her organizations
  • 6. Interviewer :Do manager use fear tactics towards the employees? Laura replied that no one feel free to do anything in the organization because the employees are afraid of being fired. It shows that the employees doesn‟t have job security also.
  • 7. Interviewer asked Laura about her surviving tactics.. Laura answered that she has catered her emotion to survive in it. Here Laura has adjusted to this situation as her manager does not influence her mood.
  • 8. Interviewer asks Laura whether she has to hide her emotions. Laura replied that managers don‟t like to see emotions of employees. Due to lack of effective leader Laura could not get emotional help.
  • 9. Interviewer : How do you go along? Laura wants to show her true emotions but to secure his job and money she can‟t do it. She can‟t show her intense feeling towards someone.
  • 10. Interviewer asks Laura whether she will object against this system. Laura told that it may be unreasoning revenge but someone needs to do it. As she is not satisfy with her manager‟s attitude so she takes such decisions.
  • 11. Interviewer : Do you ever find this gets to you? Initially Laura cared about it but later on she starts ignoring it. Laura‟s emotional attachment towards the company is fading slowly.

Interviewer : DO you intend to keep working here Laura replied that she doesn‟t want to be in the organization she had lost her interest although this was never her goal but the environment of the organization forced her to do so . This showed that the organization is losing its employee interest towards the work due to the environment created due to the anger of the its manager
  • 13. Interviewer : is there any upside of working here? Laura replied that she is much better now to answer this she could make people in place in her 3 sentence and she fights instead of walking away This reflect positive attitude of a employee to fight to get their right rather than living with such situation

Q: Do you think Laura‟s display of emotions serve to protect her ??  Yes  She is not been able to enjoy her job because of the environment which is : cold and hostile .  Moreover the General Manager‟s saying “Nobody‟s indispensable ” is really discouraging and it can kill the creativeness of the employees like Laura  So, to survive in that environment she must display the emotions that are not actually felt by her .
  • 19. Q: Does she intend to keep working there ? Does she ever rebel against the system? Why does she go along ?  No, but because it‟s her job and she need the money.  Manager don‟t like people being happy , so you just annoy them by being happy .  It‟s pretty vindictive and manipulative but you just need to do that .
  • 20. Q: Assuming that Laura‟s description is accurate , how would you react to the organization‟s culture ?  we should have strategies for handling difficult situations LIKE:  No reaction to the abuse and criticism  Always discuss instead of ignoring  Maintaining good relationship  Focus on your job  Enhance the performance by comparison

Q: Research shows that acts of co-workers(37%) and management(22%) cause more negative emotions for employees than do acts of customers(7%) what can Laura‟s company do to change its emotional climate ?  Managers can:  Motivate the employees time to time to that they can work more enthusiastically  Appreciate the work of his employees and reward them  Create a friendly environment  Resolve the problems related to the employees  Create a feeling of co-operation.  Be frank enough to talk freely to his employees ..
