What does values mean
 Values generally means What is important in life Values can be said as
Needs, beliefs and personality types, mental entities , preferences There
can be exact nature of values
 Example : Honesty can be said as value But is it content means imp and
how much is it imp defines intensity
 Types of values: terminal and instrumental wants to be rich terminal
value, what action someone takes to be rich instrumental value
How culture changes values from
organization to organization
Individualism : collectivism
Masculinity
Short term and long term orientation
Uncertainty avoidance
Distance power
What does attitude means
 How we feel about something
If like someone we have good attitude towards them
If we dislike someone then we will have bad attitude towards them
 They are evaluative statements , judgments about objects person or event
Types of attitude in job
Job involvement
Organizational commitment
Job satisfaction
Psychological empowerment
Perceived organizational support
Employee engagement
Types of attitude in job
 Job involvement : how employee looks towards his job actively participate in in
it and considers his or her performance important to self worth
 Organizational commitment : the degree to which an employees identifies with
particular organization and its goals and wishes to maintain membership in
organization
 Job satisfaction : they feel positive towards their job and they are happy with
job
 Psychological empowerment : employee believe they are empowered by their
organization to take authority and responsibility. They feel their job is
important
 Perceived organizational support : when employee feel they are important toward
their organization, their work is important to the organization, they feel their
organization values them
 Employee engagement : when employee is fully focused, energized
they are interested in their job, they work with full enthusiasm, they
are highly involved in their work
Job satisfaction on employee
performance
 If employee is not satisfied with his job they aren’t fully productive, if
employees are satisfied with work most of the employees will use their
optimum potential to do work
 Satisfied employee have fewer avoidable absentees and are less likely to
quit organization
Explaining relationship between attitude and
value with this episodes
 Someone praises you in office for your right attitude and you get into a memory of
your teacher hitting you back in school for been a bad student
 You delete an important file which will escalate the entire team instead you accept your
mistake and together you all can finish the report on time
 Some tries to get touch your hands over the mouse and tries getting closer you don't
tolerate this and get up in patience asking the person excuse me and ask him to sit
 You are busy doing a task on your desk and a sweeper comes and asks you if you can
just let him clean for a moment...he disturbs you but instead of showing anger u respect
his work and set aside for a minute or two
 Your Team Lead while in a presentation tells the manager that he has made the
presentation which is actually done by you now instead of becoming angry you take up
the lead and while explaining the slides you indirectly show the efforts u have taken to
present this

What does values mean  Values generally means What is important in life Values can be said as Needs, beliefs and personality types, mental entities , preferences There can be exact nature of values  Example : Honesty can be said as value But is it content means imp and how much is it imp defines intensity  Types of values: terminal and instrumental wants to be rich terminal value, what action someone takes to be rich instrumental value

  • 4. What does attitude means  How we feel about something If like someone we have good attitude towards them If we dislike someone then we will have bad attitude towards them  They are evaluative statements , judgments about objects person or event
  • 5. Types of attitude in job Job involvement Organizational commitment Job satisfaction Psychological empowerment Perceived organizational support Employee engagement
  • 6. Types of attitude in job  Job involvement : how employee looks towards his job actively participate in in it and considers his or her performance important to self worth  Organizational commitment : the degree to which an employees identifies with particular organization and its goals and wishes to maintain membership in organization  Job satisfaction : they feel positive towards their job and they are happy with job  Psychological empowerment : employee believe they are empowered by their organization to take authority and responsibility. They feel their job is important
  • 7.  Perceived organizational support : when employee feel they are important toward their organization, their work is important to the organization, they feel their organization values them  Employee engagement : when employee is fully focused, energized they are interested in their job, they work with full enthusiasm, they are highly involved in their work
  • 8. Job satisfaction on employee performance  If employee is not satisfied with his job they aren’t fully productive, if employees are satisfied with work most of the employees will use their optimum potential to do work  Satisfied employee have fewer avoidable absentees and are less likely to quit organization
  • 9. Explaining relationship between attitude and value with this episodes  Someone praises you in office for your right attitude and you get into a memory of your teacher hitting you back in school for been a bad student  You delete an important file which will escalate the entire team instead you accept your mistake and together you all can finish the report on time  Some tries to get touch your hands over the mouse and tries getting closer you don't tolerate this and get up in patience asking the person excuse me and ask him to sit  You are busy doing a task on your desk and a sweeper comes and asks you if you can just let him clean for a moment...he disturbs you but instead of showing anger u respect his work and set aside for a minute or two  Your Team Lead while in a presentation tells the manager that he has made the presentation which is actually done by you now instead of becoming angry you take up the lead and while explaining the slides you indirectly show the efforts u have taken to present this
