User intent, also known as search intent or audience
intent, refers to the reason behind a user's online
search query or action. Understanding user intent is
crucial for businesses and marketers as it helps tailor
content, products, and services to meet the needs
and expectations of users.
1.Informational Intent: Users are seeking information or
answers to specific questions. They want to learn about
a topic, find explanations, or understand how
something works. Example: "How to tie a tie."
2.Navigational Intent: Users are looking for a
particular website, brand, or page. They already
have a specific destination in mind and use search
engines to navigate to it. Example: "Facebook
login."
3.Transactional Intent: Users intend to make
a purchase or engage in a specific action.
They are ready to buy a product, sign up for
a service, or download an app. Example:
"Buy iPhone 13 Pro Max."
4.Commercial Investigation Intent: Users are in the
research phase and exploring different options
before making a purchase decision. They may
compare products, read reviews, or seek
recommendations. Example: "Best budget
smartphones 2024."
5.Local Intent: Users are searching for
businesses, services, or information relevant to a
specific location. They may be looking for nearby
restaurants, stores, or attractions. Example:
"Coffee shops near me.
6.Brand Intent: Users are searching for a
particular brand or entity. They may want to
learn more about the brand, its products, or its
reputation. Example: "Nike shoes."
