How Does Gatsby Change His Name
Samantha Popek Gatsby decides to change his name because he wants to reinvent himself in a
new life of fortune and success. He changed his name because he no longer wants to exist as the
son of a penniless person. His parents were not as successful as you think they were luckily,
Gatsby is rick and can afford anything his heart desires as can be seen within the novel.
Unfortunately, Gatsby s parents were, poverty stricken Instead, he reshapes himself to become

to Gatsby. I Love you now isn t that enough? I can t help what s past. She began to sob helplessly.
I did love him once but I loved you tooВЁ(Fitzgerald 132). This reveals, Gatsby s selfish desire of

My Dance In Dance
The lights are on me and the other performers on stage. The crowd is cheering so loud the music
can t even be heard. Hearing them cheer made me push myself harder than I already was. I can
hear the crowd screaming my name and which made me feel confident in my dancing. The whole
first floor of the auditorium was filled with people shouting at their top of their lungs. Performing
in front of a crowd just fills me with adrenaline and makes me forget about the world. It s almost
as if I m free even though I have a choreography to follow.
Ever since I was a little kid I was always in love with the arts. I would always draw, color, and
paint something. My favorite class in elementary class was art and I wanted to be an artist at that
time.. As time went by I changed my mind after falling in love with the movie Pirates of the
Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. I wanted to be in a movie just like that. I kept dreaming
of becoming an actor but I didn t do anything. I was too shy to ever join the drama club in 5th
grade and middle school. When high school came along I decided to put my shyness to the side and
take the drama class because if I wanted to be an actor I had to take action.
After the first day of class I instantly fell in love with it and was glad I took the decision in
taking that class. I also joined the drama club and I fell in love with the arts more. Taking the
drama classes and joining the drama was the best decision I ever did and it made my high school

Compare And Contrast The Utility Theory Of Value And The...
Compare and contrast the utility theory of value and the labor theory of value

ISM University of Management and economics
Compare and contrast the utility theory of value and the labor theory of value
Many economists tried to explain the source of value of goods and services and find the best way
to measure it. Along with other theories two most popular ones were created. First of them is the
labour theory of value mainly known from the writings of Adam Smith, David Ricardo and Karl
Marx. Despite the fact that their views on value had minor differences, their main idea was that
with few exceptions the quantity of labour employed on commodities determines the rate at which
they will exchange for each other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Probably the most commonly used and basic economic method to determine prices of a commodity
is the supply and demand method. While this method states that both demand and supply are
equally important and it is their intersection that determines the price of a good, both theories of
value emphasize only one function of this model. As the advocates of labour theory cared mostly
about the inputs of production, they mainly focused on the supply side. For example, Ricardo
mentioned in his letter to Malthus it is supply which regulates value and supply is itself controlled
by comparative cost of production. (Ricardo, 1951, 279). In contrast the theory of marginal utility
states that it is not the supply but demand that is the main factor in the supply demand model. This
theory emphasizes the importance of the consumer attitude towards the good and what kind of
value does it provide for him. Its supporters pointed out that despite how much labour is used to
provide certain good or service without demand it will be worthless. The supporters of the utility
theory of value such as Jevons and Menger sometimes ignored supply and based their theories
exclusively on the demand and made assumptions supposing that the rate of supply was given
rather than changing (Landreth Colander, 2001). Thus, while labor theory suggest that usually
supply determines the value of a good, the theory of utility emphasize the importance of

Hawaiian Food Research Paper
Hawaii is full of beauty, and hopefully the food is the same. There are so many things that
influences the food in Hawaii, what goes into making each dish, and that makes Hawaiian food
different.
There is a lot that influences Hawaiian cuisine. Different cultures had influenced Hawaiian food.
Native Hawaiians, Samoans, Tongans, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, and Haole have influenced

The livestock and marine life also influence what Hawaiians eat. Because Hawaii has a lot of
seafood and meat in their meals. Most of Hawaii s islands have ranches on them with most of them

Traditional Medicine Versus Western Medicine
Traditional Medicine Versus Western Medicine
From an Indigenous person of Canada s perspective, there is more to healing someone from an
illness than focusing only on the body. They believe that there must also be a focus on the
individual s spirituality (Keightley et al., 2011, p. 240). A doctor, who practices modern western
medicine, places their focus on the physical body and follow a specific scientific process that
depends on the illness being cured (Keightley et al., 2011, p. 241). These different approaches to
medicine are based on the philosophies and beliefs that a person has, and can often raise debate in
certain medical situations. The death of Makayla Sault raised a conflict between traditional medical
practices, and western medical practices.
Western Philosophy on Medicine
When Makayla was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia the doctors at the McMaster
Children s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario gave her a seventy five per cent chance of survival. The
doctors in the hospital have the philosophical bias that the technology of advanced western medical
treatments are the most reliable form of treatment. Makayla began chemotherapy, and went through
eleven weeks of this treatment before stopping it. According to an Oncologist at McMaster, There
are no known cases of survival of this type of leukemia without a full course of treatment (Walker,
C., 2015, Makayla exercised her rights , para.1). Makayla s mother believed that the chemotherapy

Post Colonialism Essay
Introduction Post colonialism is a period of time following colonialism, and postcolonial literature
is typically characterized by its opposition to the colonial. Postcolonial literature often targets on
race relations and the outcome of racism along with generally implies white and/or colonial
societies. Simon During, in his essay discussing the nature and boundaries of post colonialism,
argues for a more inclusive definition, calling it the need, in nations, or groups which have been
victims of imperialism to achieve an identity uncontaminated by universalist or Eurocentric
concepts or images. Works of literature that are defined as postcolonial often record racismor a
history of genocide including slavery, apartheid, and the mass extinction of people, such as the
Aborigines in Australia. Post colonialism includes a vast array of writers and subjects. In fact, the
very different geographical, historical, social, religious, and economic concerns of the different ex
colonies dictate a wide variety in the nature and subject of most postcolonial writings. In this regard

The Ethics Of Whistle Blowing Essay
Whistle blowing is a person who exposes any kind of information or activity that is deemed
illegal, unethical or not correct either private or public within an organization or company. When
an individual discovers evidence of malpractice or misconduct in an organization he/ she faces an
ethical dilemma in which a decision has to be made. Either present documentation or turn the blind
eye and not acknowledge the situation. Such information can be classified as a violation of
company policy, rules, and regulations or a threat to public interest, national security, as well as
fraud and corruption. Those that choose to become whistle blowers can disclose their information
either internal or external. Internal, whistle blower is an individual that can bring information or
accusations to the attention of other people within the accused company such as a supervisor. The
supervisor then has to follow protocol and procedures to address the issue. However, if the
supervisor cannot contain the issue, it will escalate to a higher level of management. External
whistle blowing allegations are bought forth by involving outside third party such as media, law
enforcement and government. Internal whistle blowing within an organization involves over 75 %
of employees of wrong doings such as vandalism, absenteeism and damages. Even though several
companies detect some misbehavior within the company, whistle blowing was first presented as an
ethical issue over more than 20 years ago. Many

Nuclear Atomic Facilities And International Security
INTRODUCTION
Since 2002, when the international community discovered the undeclared nuclear facilities and the
magnitude of the Islamic Republic of Iran s nuclear programme, several international players and
Western countries have focused their efforts on hindering its nuclear agenda. Although the Iranian
government has always stressed its civilian objectives, the programme has been considered an
important challenge to the non proliferation regime and international security.
Accordingly, there has been an extensive debate among scholars and policymakers about the
consequences of a nuclear Iran, ranging from claims that it will destabilise the region to a more
optimistic view that it will ensure a nuclear balance. This essay will argue ... Show more content on

In order to address the impact of a nuclear armed Iran in the ME, this essay will be divided into
three sections. Firstly, the genesis of the nuclear programme and its main drivers will be analysed.
The second section will examine the strategies applied by the international community to counter
Iranian nuclear ambitions. Finally, it will discuss the possible consequences of a nuclear Iran,
specifically, the theoretical debate, the lack of incentives for a nuclear domino, with special
reference to Israel and others key countries and, lastly, the factors which could lead to a deepening
of the current regional instability.
IRAN S NUCLEAR AMBITIONS
The origins of the Iranian nuclear programme are found in the Shah regime, and can be dated back
to 1957 when the government signed a nuclear cooperation agreement initially with the United
States (USA), and subsequently with Germany and France. Henceforth, the regime was able to
develop a structure to support a programme, which produced knowledge and trained human
capital. The arrival of the revolution halted Tehran s nuclear aspirations for two key reasons: the
suspension of nuclear assistance from the West, and an alleged contradiction of the policy with the
new regime. Later, however, the eight year war against Iraq, acted as a strong motivator for the
regime to resume the programme. As Kayhan Barzegar stress, Iran s

Workplace Intervention On Work Family Conflict
INTRODUCTION The increasing need for efficiency in a globalized economy has been
challenging for workers in general. Demanding supervisors, tough tasks and some organizational
rules are often seen as stressors by workers from different fields. Ethic organizations sought to
improve the work quality which leads to performance in many ways. Lawson et al. (2016),
studied the impact of workplace intervention on work family conflict. These authors found a
positive effect of workplace intervention on improving affective reactivity behavior to daily
stressors. LePine, M. A., et al. (2015), suggests that charismatic leader behaviors considered
challenge stressors as more challenging, and showed a tendency to react to it with superior
performance. On the other hand, leader s charismatic trait did not impact the way hindrance
stressors were appraised. Stressors have been strongly associated with bullying at the workplace
(Reknes, Einarsen, Knardahl, Lau, 2014). Although recent academic work has focused on negative
stressors outcomes (Van Den Brande, Baillien, De Witte, Vander Elst, Godderis, 2016), there is
evidence that both adverse and constructive aspects of stressors must be addressed (e.g., Boswell,
Olson Buchanan, LePine, 2004; Cavanaugh, Boswell, Roehling, Boudreau, 2000; LePine,
Podsakoff, LePine, 2005). This work aims to clarify the extent to which challenge and hindrance
stressors affect performance and job satisfaction. I expect to find that Organizational

Ill Health Rates of Indigenous Australians
As health professionals, we must look beyond individual attributes of Indigenous Australians to
gain a greater understanding and a possible explanation of why there are such high rates of ill
health issues such as alcoholism, depression, abuse, shorter life expectancy and higher prevalence
of diseases including diabetes, heart disease and obesity in our indigenous population. Looking at
just the individual aspects and the biomedical health model, we don t get the context of Aboriginal
health. This is why we need to explore in further detail what events could have created such
inequities in Aboriginal health. Other details that we should consider are the historical and cultural

Also the population rapidly decreased because of indiscriminate slaughter... and punitive

As the English population began to increase, Aboriginal people were moved into missions in
1810, so the population could be manages and they were taught the European ways so they could
be used as low paid labours, border lining slaves (Creative Spirits, 2002). When the Aboriginal
people failed to move to Christianity and civilised life, the Europeans thought it was due to the lack
of intellectual ability because they didn t understand the complexity and holding power of the
traditional culture and religion to the Aboriginals (Psychology and Indigenous Australians,
Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 77). The separation of Aboriginals from the
community into missions was known as segregation. In the early 20th century, the Indigenous
Australians all throughout the nation were exposed to the protection legislation which in turn,
denied them of their basic human rights as well as the freedom that was demanded by every other
Australian. Aboriginals were increasingly moved of farms where they worked like slaves and put
into government or church controlled reserves where they were expected to die out (Psychology
and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 79). On the Australian

How Did Ancient Greeks Influence Western Civilization
The ancient Greeks contributed a lot to the Western civilization through philosophy,
government, science, math, literature, architecture, and art. During the Age of Pericles ,
Greece was known to reach their Golden Age. The Golden Age lasted from about 500
300 B.C. Both Athens and Sparta which were two of the most popular cities assisted
ancient Greece to achieve their peak in the areas of art, architecture, philosophy, math,
literature, and science. This helped to establish the foundation for the western society.
In fact most of the western civilization s origins derived from ancient Greece.

Aristotle opened his own school
which is where he wrote hundreds of essays about logic, politics, and science. Most
Greek philosophers believed that natural events are caused by natural causes. To this

Two of the most significant contributions from ancient Greece are science and
mathematics. The concepts that were contributed to the west are used to determine the

Christianity And The Nature Of God
If one is to write about Christianity and the nature of God, one must have a foundation to rely
upon. Both theology and our epistemological queries concerning God must be crafted from a
source. Michael Bird in his Evangelical Theology notes that the prolegomena or things we say
before saying anything about Godmust be predicated upon a critical source. This source is God s
Word and is revealed in multiple ways. If one is to conduct a Credo or apologetic stance of his
Christian faith, this person ought to explain how God reveals Godself, especially through the
Biblical text, but also potentially through creation. God revealing Godself through the God s Word
is also known as Special Revelation; whereas, God revealing God s personality through creation is
known as General Revelation or Natural Theology. First and foremost, there is a significant debate
concerning the possibility of Natural Theology. Emil Bruner and Karl Barth famously debated this
in the 1930 s as Barth argued that only the Holy Spirit can illuminate the person of God so that God
is revealed to humanity. Without the illumination of the Holy Spirit, humanity is too deep in their
sin to see God s handiwork throughout creation. John Calvin, on the other hand, believes that the
knowledge of God has been naturally implanted in the minds of humanity. To prevent humanity
from pretending that they were never aware of God s existence, God implants knowledge of God s
divine majesty. Additionally, Calvin believes that

Chariot Tactics
For centuries, chariots have been a useful resource in early civilizations. It is defined as a two
wheeled vehicle pulled behind horses to travel from one place to another. The development of a
chariot originated in Mesopotamia before 3000 B.C. and it started to receive widespread attention.
During this civilization, hill dwellers from north of Mesopotamiawere sophisticated people because
they created the chariotwith good intentions. However, the use of chariots declined rapidly when
new tactics were developed for warlike purposes. Although there are several deficiencies in chariots,
it largely influenced ancient warfare politically, economically and socially.

While it is true that chariots protect people from danger, it also helped them seek for

fascinating. Many countries wanted chariots in their possession simultaneously, so this created
job opportunities for people to produce them. It is very important for a person to have a job
because they can earn money to support themselves and their family. According to Humphrey
(2006), chariot makers used materials such as a hard, dense wood, little prone to cracking, for
the hub: a straight, tough, inflexible timber for the spokes; and a straight grained, easily bent

3. Differences between APV and option valuation
Valuing MW Acquisition by using APV method assumes in practice that exploiting of all MW s
reserves is certain and happens right after the acquisition. In other words, the APV method excludes
the flexibility in future decision making. In this case, Apache has both an option to defer the
exploiting of reserves into future and Apache may also choose not to exploit the MW reserves at all.
As some of MW s reserves are actually real options, the APV valuation method actually
underestimates the real value of MW acquisition. If Apache defers the exploiting of the reserves,
there exists a possibility for the future cash flows becoming even more valuable. For example,
Apache could have more precise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it is important to remember that the APV valuation and the option valuation calculations
in Exhibit 1 and 3 aren t straight forward comparable, since APV assumes financing the acquisition
with new $300 million debt and real option valuation is calculated assuming total equity financing.
If the tax rate remains constant, the real option valuation could be performed by taking the present
value of the tax shields into account. In this case the values obtained by real option valuation would
be even higher than the ones presented in the table.
As discounted cash flow method assumes all equity financed acquisition, it presents more
comparable value for the real option values shown. The value of Apache s possibility to decide
whether to exploit the reserves equals the difference between DCF value and the real option value.
4. Option valuation method
The future cash flows of MW s reserves contain a great amount of risk and have many possible
future outcomes. The real option valuation method takes into account the flexibility rising from this
uncertainty. Real options often are valued using financial option pricing techniques. However, there
are several things to be considered when treating reserves as options by using more specific Black

wars, namely The Opium wars of the 19th century. In the 18th century, the country was flourishing,
while it had control of international trade. By the 19th century, China had lost control of trade and
was struggling with mass amounts of poverty and addiction.
Many assume that because of the Qing Dynasty 1644 1912, China had no outside contact with the
world. However, this is false. Since the 16th century the imperial court had been receiving
European diplomatic and religious missions. From 1760 Canton or what is called now Guangzho, a
city north easy of Hong Kong, had the monopoly on foreign trade within China. During this time,
China had many cultural and diplomatic procedures involving foreign trade. Foreigners interacted
with Cohongs, licensed chinese merchants. More and more Europeans began to get involved with
trade in China and the city of Canton flourished with international trade. China had many exotic and
high quality products to sell to Europeans. Silk, tea, herbs, spices, and porcelain were among the
chief exports. Tea, being the most popular export to Great Britain, was in high

Happiness And Emotions In The Poetry Of Blake And Rossetti
At first read, Blake and Rossetti s fascination with the unity of conflicting emotion and their
tendency to describe human experiences in contradictory terms might be perplexing. However,
there is a reason behind what seems to be madness in the poetry of these writers. The poetry of
Blake and Rossetti leads itself to the assertion that the human experience is teeming with both joy
and agony. Whether someone lives their life in a state of joy or woe does not depend on whether
their experience is positive or negative, because the human experience is both. Rather, someone s
happiness or sadness through their life depends on whether they choose to orient their focus to the
happiness and joy that exists in the universe or the negative pain that is just as abundant. Though
happiness and sadness take many different forms in the poetry, in each form, they are as abundant
as they are co dependent. Blake and Rossetti take radical steps to express how related the feelings
of joy and woe are in time and space. In fact, in many places, their poetry subtly suggests that one
emotioncannot occur without the other, and that no situation is complete without elements of both
emotions.
Blake s first unification of the two emotions occurs in his poem, Auguries of Innocence. Though
sadness and joy are not the main topic of the piece, these two emotions appear multiple times
through the poem. Interestingly, they are always referred to together, as Joy Woe . Never in the
poem does Blake

The Importance Of Environment Status On The Environment
Environment Status: To Be Determined Some humans spend their time obsessing over super
heroes while others are obsessing over saving the planet but is there a possible super power
capable of doing so? As emphasized in Man and Nature written in 2002 by George Perkins Marsh,
a key figure to the commencement of environmentalism ( George Perkins Marsh, 2015), mankind
has done its fair share of destroying nature s functionality with expectations of a futile environment
in return. Although there are constant changes occurring to the environment and the policies
having to do with the environment, this article addresses issues that have continued to depress
throughout the years. Some of the main aspects and issues addressed in Marsh s article include the
comparison of humanvs. animal impact on the environment, changes that have begun to take place
although they need a further power to fully improve, protection that needs to be put into place on
pastures and land that have yet to be used, the search of a solution to balance the rainfall in each
different kind of climate and biome and the need to be able to differentiate changes occurring
because of human actions or because of geological actions.
Marsh begins by explaining the different outcomes created by both humans and animals. He writes
that animals act upon their roles in the food chain and buy their natural will to survive, while man
often acts upon selfish needs. He writes that Human differs from brute action, too, in

This essay will evaluate the reforms to the banking system of ability of banks to create money in
the form of bank deposits when they make loans and the problems caused by the way in which
money is created by banks and the effect on debt, house prices, inequality, the environment, the
level of democracy, recessions crises, jobs businesses and taxes public spending.
The advantages and disadvantages of the positive money proposal include the following;
The bank would provide the payment systems such as cheque books, debit cards, internet banking,
and ATMs that allow the customer to use their sovereign money to make payments.
The account holder can easily access their money through ATMs, transfer and check their account
online. Although, banks put limits on the number of transactions and transfers per month.
Banks require account holders maintain a minimum balance in their account and if they do not
maintain the account, they will be fined. However, the banks give a limit of transfer and
withdrawal per month and this poses an inconvenience to the customer who needs to make an
emergency withdrawal that will exceed the number of withdrawals permitted.
The accounts would be interest free, and banks would be able to charge account fees for providing
these services.

from an interest free loan. The account has to be clear before the zero percent offer ends

20% of people affected by tetanus result in death (Atkinson,2009). This paper will go more in depth

The severity of tetanus has been around for many years and has since been developed and studied
differently. The symptoms and descriptions of tetanus have been traced back to the 5th century
BCE which hasn t been completely proven that it was discovered then. Tetanus was produced by
two researchers named Carle and Rattone in 1884, by experimenting with animals and injecting
them with puss from a person infected with severe tetanus( Tetanus n.d). The injection of animals

mean someone should eat unhealthy. Eating unhealthy causes damage to an individuals insides.
When someone eats healthy they find themselves less tired and they also find that they have less
health issues than someone that eats unhealthy. When an individual eats better they feel better. Put
good in, get good out. So the better an individual eats the better, the more energy they have, the
more motivation they have, and they feel better as a whole. Within a week of eating healthy an
individual can begin to feel better on the inside. When an individual makes the change to eating
healthily they will notice that they feel better and have more energy. There are more ways to eat

In this essay I will base leadership skills on how effective the pair were with what they did within
the Nazi Party as well as partially on the qualities that made them both respectively good leaders.
The German Workers Party was formed on the 5th January 1919. It was set up by Anton Drexler,
Karl Harrer, Dietrich Eckart and Gottfried Feder. It later became the National Socialist German
Workers Party in 1920 and was called the Nazi Partyas a nickname. Drexler was the Chairman of
the Party from 1920 1921 and was succeed by Adolf Hitlerfrom 1921 1945. Within the Party there
were other organisations: the Sturmabteilung(SA) and the Schutzstaffel (SS). The SA were also
known as Stormtroopers and they were the military for the party. The SS started out as private
bodyguards for Hitler but then became the parties military force. Hitler became Chancellor,
appointed by President Paul von Hindenburg, in 1933. In the 1933 General Election, the
Communist Party were banned and the Nazi Party got a majority so had power (1). Hindenburg
died in 1934. After this Hitler then made a combined role of Chancellor and President which was
called Fuhrer (2). On the 1st September 1939, the Nazi s invaded Poland and two days later France
and Britain declared war on Germany. This was the beginning of World War Two (1). Heinrich
Himmler was the Nazi Propaganda Leader from 1926 1930. He became the head of the SS in 1929
and in 1936 he was the head of the new national police (3).

The Invention Of The Ipod Essay
Assessment 1 Part 1
1.Invention is the process of creating something new meaning or for the first time. When applied
to any organisation, it can either be designing a new product, a new service or even a new process.
Innovation is the process of creating new value using advance knowledge produced as a result of
invention.
An example in differentiating between Invention and Innovation is given below.
Back in the year 2001, the first iPod was released; it was not actually an inventive product. In fact
MP3 players /Walkman were already been around for a few years. The first MP3 Players
/Walkman were put on the market in the year 1998. Nevertheless the iPod was the first to be really
an innovation. It was the very first to allow a thriving transition of new ideas into tangible societal
impact . The combination of elements such as its visual design, its ease of use and the most
significant was the iTunes software that allowed the user to manage and purchase music online.
With the example mentioned above, MP3 Players/Walkman was the invention and iPod was the
innovation.
In comparison to invention and innovation, I would consider Innovation to be more important than
invention. To serve new markets, innovation creates new products and services which enable an
organisation to expand its range of beneficiaries or market base. On the other hand, it may lead to
product and service enhancement, such as improved quality or service flexibility. An example that
can illustrate this is

Globalization And International Trade Theory
International trade plays a big role in every person s life. The credit should go to every economist
who has contributed to the development of international trade theory. Trade is the consequence of
the human propensity to truck, barter, and exchange one thing for another (Smith, 1776). Different
people have different propensities for trading, so do different economic periods have different
economic conditions, which require different international tradetheories. This could be the material
cause for the development of international trade theory.
Mercantilism was the dominant school of thought in Europe from the sixteenth century to the
eighteenth century. It refers to the central policy prescription that the state should act like a
merchant, augmenting the wealth of the nation by maximizing the surplus from trade with other
nations (Sandelin, 2014). It measured a country s wealth by the amount of rare metals it owns. The
country with more precious metals is better off than others. It aimed at making many exports and
few imports to get positive trading balance. Mercantilism was dominant in France and England.
Governments power were growing and they had big demand for lands at that time. This theory
could be closely related to the wars during that period. At the same time the rise of more powerful
European states with burgeoning bureaucracies, frequent dynastic wars that required larger and
more expensive armies, and more lavish court expenditures exacerbated this

in industrial history. The objective of the experiments were to establish how an individual is
influenced not only by their own abilities, but by their working environment and the people they
work with, both fellow workers and supervisors. To gain a better understanding of what the
Hawthorne studies were, why they were conducted, and how they have impacted management
practices, one must first understand the history behind the key contributors of this study and the
location where the studies took place, the Western Electric Company. However, the studies did
receive criticism, some of which was considered fairly harsh, such as from Alex Carey The
Hawthorne studies were conducted by Harvard s Business School Industrial Research Group,
George Elton Mayo, and Fritz J. Roethlisberger. These two men were major contributors to what we

Difference Between Pharmacy And Clinical Pharmacy
Retail vs. Clinical Pharmacy
Options abound in the field of pharmacy. Two popular paths in pharmacy are clinical (or hospital)
pharmacy and retail (or community) pharmacy. Retail pharmacists work either at a pharmacy in a
store or at an independently owned pharmacy, while clinical pharmacists work directly with
physicians and patients in a hospital or other health care facility ( What Pharmacists Do ). Both
clinical and retail pharmacy jobs have their specific benefits and drawbacks, but retail pharmacy is
more advantageous to a recent pharmacy graduate pursuing this career.
Retail pharmacy involves less stress than clinical pharmacy. In retail, the pharmacist s main task is
issuing medication to customers ( What Pharmacists Do ). They stock and label medications, fill
prescriptions, direct customers about the use of the drugs, give them general medical advice, and
answer questions they might have about over the counter medicine ( What Pharmacists Do ).
Likewise, clinical pharmacists work with customers, which are in this case the patients, but they
also interact personally with doctors; in the hospital, some pharmacists may even go on patient
rounds with them ( What Pharmacists Do ). Clinical pharmacy entails consulting with doctors
about medications and recommending a course of action, not just filling prescriptions ( What
Pharmacists Do ). Both clinical and retail pharmacy jobs require patience and a love for helping
people, but a clinical position may be more stressful

many time with a cowhide, till I was black and blue. Some challenges a slave faced during
escape was having to travel hundreds of miles to freedom, and having to be very cautious of
being caught by slave hunters. According to a source titled Escape!, it states, Robert Brown
rode another 40 miles through the mud roads. When the courageous horse gave out, Robert tied
him to a fencepost, and walked on. For two days, he dared not talk to anyone for fear of being
arrested. Reaching safety affected a slave because they still had to be very careful about being
caught, since slave hunters were looking for the missing slaves. According to a source titled
Reaching Safety, it states, Anyone who refused to aid in the capture of a fugitive, interfered with
the arrest of a slave, or tried to free a slave already in custody was subject to a heavy fine and

The Birth of Social Media Essay
Social media: (noun pl but singular or pl in constr) forms of electronic communication (as Web sites
for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share
information, ideas, personal messages, and other content.
Social media has developed to allow for information to be shared instantaneously: image and video

through time and space with the click of a button, and can spread like wildfire.
In the following pages we will discuss several aspects of social media and how it affects our

The emergence of interacting socially through the use of the Internet began with Email. The
information contained in an Email message has the ability to be delivered instantly to one or
many, as well as forwarded to other recipients with the click of the mouse. This enables
widespread, viral like interactions to cross the plane of space and time, and impact society and
culture on a global scale. Email continues to be the largest social network online today. (Owyang,
2014) We use Email for everything from business correspondences, to sharing photos and videos.
Most Americans have at least one email address; in fact, the average number of email accounts
per person is 3.1. (toptenreviews.com) Different uses of Email can require different email
addresses. For example: one for work, one personal, and one for SPAM (also known as Internet
junk mail.) It seems however that using Email to connect to the people we know has its limitations;
we need to know who the people actually are in order to contact them, please allow me to introduce

America Online (AOL) brought together people who subscribed to the AOL service with other like
minded individuals. AOL features included Internet searching, Chat rooms where groups of people
could all talk about the same subject, and Instant Messaging. The idea of being able to connect with
someone miles away, who you don t know personally, was both novel and ingenious. Instant

Ficer Of The Corporate World
In the corporate world, there is often room for error. There are procedures, policies, and
regulations to follow in every department. and there must be someone to oversee these policies.
This person is known as the Chief Compliance Officer. Brad is the Chief Compliance Officer, or
CCO, of Investors Group. As he says, he s the police officer of the corporate world. By law, a
firm like Investors Group, an investment fund manager and portfolio advisor must have a CCO.
The main duty of the CCO is ensuring that the firm is following all regulations as an investor or
as an advisor. He also makes certain that all employees are following all internal policies and
procedures. Brad didn t have a typical reason for pursuing accounting when he went to school.
When he was applying to the University of Manitoba, he happened to watch the movie Wall
Street. He was not sure what faculty he wanted to go into, but watching this interesting movie
cemented his decision. Brad says he never really aimed to have his career move towards
becoming CCO, but more that is was a gradual transition. He began as an auditor and eventually
moved to working in investment compliance. From there, he made a lateral transfer to his
current job. However, Brad says he s becoming someone who doesn t follow a job description. He
also follows many roles, able to switch from one job to another without issue. This, he says, come
from working for Investors Group for 25 years. An example of his many roles is while Brad

The Impact Of The Reichstag Fire
On the evening of 27 February 1933, the Reichstag building Germany s Parliament burnt down and
Hitler used this to his advantage by imprisoning many communist leaders without any case or
warrant which prevented them from being part of the Reichstag. It enabled the Nazis to say that the
country was in danger from the communists during its election campaign these actions helped the
Nazis to become the most favourable party. This then helped Hitler on the road to dictatorship. The
Reichstag firewas caused by a communist which gave Hitler the perfect excuse to completely
destroy the Nazi s biggest rival, the communist party. Hitler then persuaded President Hindenburg,
who was anti communist himself, to pass an emergency decree to suspend civil... Show more

Germany was a federal republic, Germany was divided into states, which meant that so much
governmental power was in local hands. In January/February 1934 Hitler eliminated this system,
therefore putting all power in his hands. Children were taught from a young age that Hitler was
good for Germany and the rightful leader. Hitler knew that they were the future for Germany and
were effectively a blank canvas . Youth groups, such as the Hitler Youth were set up, so children
spent less time at home where their family could influence their views. Churches were another
dangerous influence on Hitler s regime as they too could tell people what to believe. Hitler s
agreement The Concordat (20 June 1933), with the Pope, was a short term break that permitted
Hitler to ban the Catholic Zentrum party without opposition from the Catholic Church plus they
agreed on not interfering with each other. The Protestant Church, on the other hand, could be
Nazified: Hitler appointed a Reich Bishop called Ludwig Mueller to lead a German Christian
movement within the Church which combined Protestant tradition with Nazi ideology. The Nazi
government also combined Christian worship with Nazi Party celebrations that adopted religious
ritual but glorified the Party and Hitler. Therefore, Hitler limited one of the most dangerous
influences in Germany. Gleichschaltung

Economic Systems Essay
Introduction
Economic systems are organized way in which a state or nation allocates its resources and
apportions goods and services in the national community. An economic system is slackly defined
as country s plan for its services, goods produced, and the exact way in which its economic plan is
carried out. There are three types of economic systems exist, they are command economy, market
economy, and mixed economy. Command economy is also sometimes called planned economy. The
expectations of this type of economy is that all major decisions that related to the construction or
production, distribution, commodity and service prices are all made by the government. However,
in market economy, national and state governments play a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Businesses can decide which goods to produce and in what quantity and consumers can decide
what they want to purchase and at what price. The role of the state is limited to ensure right
precision in the prices charged by the sellers. Prices also have the function to allocate and
distribute a country s resources. Market leads to complete effectiveness bringing about the best
possible distribution of a country s resources in a perfect world. This would only happen in a
state of equilibrium and there is a unique price for every commodity. But in a realistic world
which is imperfect by nature, prices are never at equilibrium and very unstable depending upon
the vagaries of the market forces. This generally harms people living below the poverty line. It
is impossible for them to pay high prices in cases of demand shortage. Thus, the free market
model is not a viable option in developing countries which has a large number of poor. Besides,
producers are aim to minimize profit and maximize rent of production. Examples of countries that
are using this economy system are Hong Kong, USA, and UK. Many developing countries like
India and China are moving towards totally free market economy. The command economy is
government directed. The market forces have very little say in such an economy. There is no
private property. On the other hand, a command economy aims at using all available resources for
developing either

Analysis Of When The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In...
For decades discrimination has been continuously growing, being angled at minority groups. These
negative outlooks have created many barriers and disadvantages, with society, for those belonging
to different cultures. Each set of characters within the stories are created with different
backgrounds, but live with similar expectations and struggles. These barriers occur in day to day
activities and interactions, affecting individuals, and creating negativity. Paul K. Chappell once
said, To truly listen to others, we must develop empathy. If we do not empathize with people, we
cannot really hear what they are saying. When we do not listen with empathy, we hear only their
words (Chappell). White reading each short story, Amy Tan s Two Kinds, and Sherman Alexie s
When the Lone Rangerand TontoFistfight in Heaven, the reader is able to connect the stories
characters through race, culture, and ethnicity to create that feeling of empathy Chappell was trying
to introduce.
In the stories, two kinds and The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, we see how the
families each are treated poorly because they are of different races. In two kinds the family is a
Chinese family. When moving to the United States Tan must change to look more like an
American girl so they cut her hair. Tan explains her change by saying, I now had hair the length
of a boys, with straight across bangs that hung at a slant two inches above my eyebrow (516).
Tans original look made her stand out too much compared to an American child. By cutting off
her hair she felt that she could finally become perfect (516). By explaining the drastic changes
they felt were needed Tan is showing how far individuals are willing to go in order to be
accepted. In The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven the characters is spoken poorly to
by an officer. When found driving around late at night the main character is told you should be
more careful where you drive, says the officer continuing with, your making people nervous. You
don t fit the profile of the neighborhood (35). The young man is being told that people are afraid
of him because of how he looks. The color of his skin or the length of his hair automatically make

Prayer Should Not Be Allowed In Public Schools
Not During School Hours What s the harm in an occasional spoken prayer at school every now
and then? Are times such as an assembly, sporting event, or graduation acceptable? The debate
of prayer in public schools has been an ongoing issue for over fifty years now. It seems like a
simple yes or no answer. As a Christian who attended a private school, my initial answer was a
definite yes. I have always believed that God should be present in every school all over the world
mainly because my school s activities were centered around prayer. However, after much research, I
have found a different point of view. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools due to the fact
that these schools consist of numerous religions, it is unconstitutional, and it creates different
burdens for each person in the school. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools because more
than just Christians attend these schools.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an article titled, The Dangers of Religious Instruction in Public Schools, a Wisconsin State
Supreme Court justice noted, There is no such source and cause of strife, quarrel, fights, malignant
opposition, persecution, and war, and all evil in the state, as religion. Let it once enter our civil
affairs, our government would soon be destroyed. Let it once enter our common schools, they
would be destroyed. (Gaylor). In all actuality, the Supreme Court does not have a set rule that the
students can t pray while they are at school, but it is set that the school itself can t hold religious
assemblies (Strauss). Both Gaylor and Strauss agree that this separation is important. Public
schools are funded and controlled by the government. If religion were placed back in the schools
it, too, would be controlled by the government. It would soon not hold the same value that it does
while it is separate from the school

El Paso, Texas, the population of the city boomed with people from different places and with

respected at the same time. Prostitution is the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual

Hearing them cheer made me push myself harder than I already was. I can hear the crowd screaming my name and which made me feel confident in my dancing. The whole first floor of the auditorium was filled with people shouting at their top of their lungs. Performing in front of a crowd just fills me with adrenaline and makes me forget about the world. My favorite class in elementary class was art and I wanted to be an artist at that time.. As time went by I changed my mind after falling in love with the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. I wanted to be in a movie just like that. I kept dreaming of becoming an actor but I didn t do anything. I was too shy to ever join the drama club in 5th grade and middle school. When high school came along I decided to put my shyness to the side and take the drama class because if I wanted to be an actor I had to take action. After the first day of class I instantly fell in love with it and was glad I took the decision in taking that class. I also joined the drama club and I fell in love with the arts more. • 4. Compare And Contrast The Utility Theory Of Value And The... Compare and contrast the utility theory of value and the labor theory of value IgnД— MartutaitytД— ISM University of Management and economics Compare and contrast the utility theory of value and the labor theory of value Many economists tried to explain the source of value of goods and services and find the best way to measure it. Along with other theories two most popular ones were created. First of them is the labour theory of value mainly known from the writings of Adam Smith, David Ricardo and Karl Marx. Despite the fact that their views on value had minor differences, their main idea was that with few exceptions the quantity of labour employed on commodities determines the rate at which they will exchange for each other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Probably the most commonly used and basic economic method to determine prices of a commodity is the supply and demand method. While this method states that both demand and supply are equally important and it is their intersection that determines the price of a good, both theories of value emphasize only one function of this model. As the advocates of labour theory cared mostly about the inputs of production, they mainly focused on the supply side. For example, Ricardo mentioned in his letter to Malthus it is supply which regulates value and supply is itself controlled by comparative cost of production. (Ricardo, 1951, 279). In contrast the theory of marginal utility states that it is not the supply but demand that is the main factor in the supply demand model. This theory emphasizes the importance of the consumer attitude towards the good and what kind of value does it provide for him. Its supporters pointed out that despite how much labour is used to provide certain good or service without demand it will be worthless. The supporters of the utility theory of value such as Jevons and Menger sometimes ignored supply and based their theories exclusively on the demand and made assumptions supposing that the rate of supply was given rather than changing (Landreth Colander, 2001). Thus, while labor theory suggest that usually supply determines the value of a good, the theory of utility emphasize the importance of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Traditional Medicine Versus Western Medicine Traditional Medicine Versus Western Medicine From an Indigenous person of Canada s perspective, there is more to healing someone from an illness than focusing only on the body. They believe that there must also be a focus on the individual s spirituality (Keightley et al., 2011, p. 240). A doctor, who practices modern western medicine, places their focus on the physical body and follow a specific scientific process that depends on the illness being cured (Keightley et al., 2011, p. 241). These different approaches to medicine are based on the philosophies and beliefs that a person has, and can often raise debate in certain medical situations. Finally, it will discuss the possible consequences of a nuclear Iran, specifically, the theoretical debate, the lack of incentives for a nuclear domino, with special reference to Israel and others key countries and, lastly, the factors which could lead to a deepening of the current regional instability. IRAN S NUCLEAR AMBITIONS The origins of the Iranian nuclear programme are found in the Shah regime, and can be dated back to 1957 when the government signed a nuclear cooperation agreement initially with the United States (USA), and subsequently with Germany and France. Henceforth, the regime was able to develop a structure to support a programme, which produced knowledge and trained human capital. The arrival of the revolution halted Tehran s nuclear aspirations for two key reasons: the suspension of nuclear assistance from the West, and an alleged contradiction of the policy with the new regime. Later, however, the eight year war against Iraq, acted as a strong motivator for the regime to resume the programme. As Kayhan Barzegar stress, Iran s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Workplace Intervention On Work Family Conflict INTRODUCTION The increasing need for efficiency in a globalized economy has been challenging for workers in general. Demanding supervisors, tough tasks and some organizational rules are often seen as stressors by workers from different fields. Ethic organizations sought to improve the work quality which leads to performance in many ways. Lawson et al. (2016), studied the impact of workplace intervention on work family conflict. These authors found a positive effect of workplace intervention on improving affective reactivity behavior to daily stressors. LePine, M. A., et al. (2015), suggests that charismatic leader behaviors considered challenge stressors as more challenging, and showed a tendency to react to it with superior performance. On the other hand, leader s charismatic trait did not impact the way hindrance stressors were appraised. Stressors have been strongly associated with bullying at the workplace (Reknes, Einarsen, Knardahl, Lau, 2014). Although recent academic work has focused on negative stressors outcomes (Van Den Brande, Baillien, De Witte, Vander Elst, Godderis, 2016), there is evidence that both adverse and constructive aspects of stressors must be addressed (e.g., Boswell, Olson Buchanan, LePine, 2004; Cavanaugh, Boswell, Roehling, Boudreau, 2000; LePine, Podsakoff, LePine, 2005). • 18. Christianity And The Nature Of God If one is to write about Christianity and the nature of God, one must have a foundation to rely upon. Both theology and our epistemological queries concerning God must be crafted from a source. Michael Bird in his Evangelical Theology notes that the prolegomena or things we say before saying anything about Godmust be predicated upon a critical source. This source is God s Word and is revealed in multiple ways. If one is to conduct a Credo or apologetic stance of his Christian faith, this person ought to explain how God reveals Godself, especially through the Biblical text, but also potentially through creation. God revealing Godself through the God s Word is also known as Special Revelation; whereas, God revealing God s personality through creation is known as General Revelation or Natural Theology. First and foremost, there is a significant debate concerning the possibility of Natural Theology. Emil Bruner and Karl Barth famously debated this in the 1930 s as Barth argued that only the Holy Spirit can illuminate the person of God so that God is revealed to humanity. Without the illumination of the Holy Spirit, humanity is too deep in their sin to see God s handiwork throughout creation. John Calvin, on the other hand, believes that the knowledge of God has been naturally implanted in the minds of humanity. To prevent humanity from pretending that they were never aware of God s existence, God implants knowledge of God s divine majesty. Additionally, Calvin believes that ... In this case, Apache has both an option to defer the exploiting of reserves into future and Apache may also choose not to exploit the MW reserves at all. If the tax rate remains constant, the real option valuation could be performed by taking the present value of the tax shields into account. In this case the values obtained by real option valuation would be even higher than the ones presented in the table. As discounted cash flow method assumes all equity financed acquisition, it presents more comparable value for the real option values shown. • 24. Happiness And Emotions In The Poetry Of Blake And Rossetti At first read, Blake and Rossetti s fascination with the unity of conflicting emotion and their tendency to describe human experiences in contradictory terms might be perplexing. However, there is a reason behind what seems to be madness in the poetry of these writers. The poetry of Blake and Rossetti leads itself to the assertion that the human experience is teeming with both joy and agony. Whether someone lives their life in a state of joy or woe does not depend on whether their experience is positive or negative, because the human experience is both. Rather, someone s happiness or sadness through their life depends on whether they choose to orient their focus to the happiness and joy that exists in the universe or the negative pain that is just as abundant. Though happiness and sadness take many different forms in the poetry, in each form, they are as abundant as they are co dependent. Blake and Rossetti take radical steps to express how related the feelings of joy and woe are in time and space. In fact, in many places, their poetry subtly suggests that one emotioncannot occur without the other, and that no situation is complete without elements of both emotions. Blake s first unification of the two emotions occurs in his poem, Auguries of Innocence. Though sadness and joy are not the main topic of the piece, these two emotions appear multiple times through the poem. Interestingly, they are always referred to together, as Joy Woe . Never in the poem does Blake ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. The Invention Of The Ipod Essay Assessment 1 Part 1 1.Invention is the process of creating something new meaning or for the first time. When applied to any organisation, it can either be designing a new product, a new service or even a new process. Innovation is the process of creating new value using advance knowledge produced as a result of invention. An example in differentiating between Invention and Innovation is given below. Back in the year 2001, the first iPod was released; it was not actually an inventive product. In fact MP3 players /Walkman were already been around for a few years. The first MP3 Players /Walkman were put on the market in the year 1998. Nevertheless the iPod was the first to be really an innovation. It was the very first to allow a thriving transition of new ideas into tangible societal impact . The combination of elements such as its visual design, its ease of use and the most significant was the iTunes software that allowed the user to manage and purchase music online. With the example mentioned above, MP3 Players/Walkman was the invention and iPod was the innovation. In comparison to invention and innovation, I would consider Innovation to be more important than invention. To serve new markets, innovation creates new products and services which enable an organisation to expand its range of beneficiaries or market base. On the other hand, it may lead to product and service enhancement, such as improved quality or service flexibility. An example that can illustrate this is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Globalization And International Trade Theory International trade plays a big role in every person s life. The credit should go to every economist who has contributed to the development of international trade theory. Trade is the consequence of the human propensity to truck, barter, and exchange one thing for another (Smith, 1776). Different people have different propensities for trading, so do different economic periods have different economic conditions, which require different international tradetheories. This could be the material cause for the development of international trade theory. Mercantilism was the dominant school of thought in Europe from the sixteenth century to the eighteenth century. It refers to the central policy prescription that the state should act like a merchant, augmenting the wealth of the nation by maximizing the surplus from trade with other nations (Sandelin, 2014). It measured a country s wealth by the amount of rare metals it owns. The country with more precious metals is better off than others. It aimed at making many exports and few imports to get positive trading balance. Mercantilism was dominant in France and England. Governments power were growing and they had big demand for lands at that time. This theory could be closely related to the wars during that period. At the same time the rise of more powerful European states with burgeoning bureaucracies, frequent dynastic wars that required larger and more expensive armies, and more lavish court expenditures exacerbated this ... Two popular paths in pharmacy are clinical (or hospital) pharmacy and retail (or community) pharmacy. Retail pharmacists work either at a pharmacy in a store or at an independently owned pharmacy, while clinical pharmacists work directly with physicians and patients in a hospital or other health care facility ( What Pharmacists Do ). Both clinical and retail pharmacy jobs have their specific benefits and drawbacks, but retail pharmacy is more advantageous to a recent pharmacy graduate pursuing this career. Retail pharmacy involves less stress than clinical pharmacy. In retail, the pharmacist s main task is issuing medication to customers ( What Pharmacists Do ). In January/February 1934 Hitler eliminated this system, therefore putting all power in his hands. Children were taught from a young age that Hitler was good for Germany and the rightful leader. Hitler knew that they were the future for Germany and were effectively a blank canvas . Youth groups, such as the Hitler Youth were set up, so children spent less time at home where their family could influence their views. Churches were another dangerous influence on Hitler s regime as they too could tell people what to believe. Hitler s agreement The Concordat (20 June 1933), with the Pope, was a short term break that permitted Hitler to ban the Catholic Zentrum party without opposition from the Catholic Church plus they agreed on not interfering with each other. The Protestant Church, on the other hand, could be Nazified: Hitler appointed a Reich Bishop called Ludwig Mueller to lead a German Christian movement within the Church which combined Protestant tradition with Nazi ideology. The Nazi government also combined Christian worship with Nazi Party celebrations that adopted religious ritual but glorified the Party and Hitler. There are three types of economic systems exist, they are command economy, market economy, and mixed economy. Command economy is also sometimes called planned economy. Businesses can decide which goods to produce and in what quantity and consumers can decide what they want to purchase and at what price. The role of the state is limited to ensure right precision in the prices charged by the sellers. Prices also have the function to allocate and distribute a country s resources. Market leads to complete effectiveness bringing about the best possible distribution of a country s resources in a perfect world. This would only happen in a state of equilibrium and there is a unique price for every commodity. But in a realistic world which is imperfect by nature, prices are never at equilibrium and very unstable depending upon the vagaries of the market forces. This generally harms people living below the poverty line. It is impossible for them to pay high prices in cases of demand shortage. Thus, the free market model is not a viable option in developing countries which has a large number of poor. Besides, producers are aim to minimize profit and maximize rent of production. Examples of countries that are using this economy system are Hong Kong, USA, and UK. Many developing countries like India and China are moving towards totally free market economy. Are times such as an assembly, sporting event, or graduation acceptable? The debate of prayer in public schools has been an ongoing issue for over fifty years now. It seems like a simple yes or no answer. As a Christian who attended a private school, my initial answer was a definite yes. I have always believed that God should be present in every school all over the world mainly because my school s activities were centered around prayer. However, after much research, I have found a different point of view. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools due to the fact that these schools consist of numerous religions, it is unconstitutional, and it creates different burdens for each person in the school. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools because more than just Christians attend these schools.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
