Module 12 Multimedia reflection
The author did not have much of a philosophy of technology initially since they only used PowerPoint and the smartboard in high school. They found all the tools in the course difficult and wanted to use little technology. However, they realized tools can assist lessons and inspire student creativity. The GoAnimate tool caught their attention and made them see many tools can spice up lessons. They also realized technology allows for flexible, collaborative learning through Google Drive and Edmodo provides a place for online quizzes and notes. In conclusion, the author resolved that technology can provide flexible learning for students and inspire creativity when used effectively.

The Hamlet Project is a collaborative effort between two classes to create a visual representation of the emotional journey of characters in Shakespeare's Hamlet. WHAT IS UNIVERSAL DESIGN? • Designing products/ideas to allow usage by the greatest number of people possible • Requires a “big picture” view of the creation, but a detailed view of those involved in the use of the creation • Considers everybody that a situation could possibly effect • Can be applied to education in the classroom • Requires planning ahead • Allows above- and below-average learners to learn together • Takes away the disability of the school, not the students

GUIDELINES FOR UNIVERSAL DESIGN • Provide more than one form of representation • Can every child perceive it? • Can everybody understand how it is represented? • Can a child process the information? • Real Life Example: Mapquest • Arrow on the left = visual perception • Street name written out = linguistic • Time estimation = spatial • Exact mileage = mathematical/logical
