United Way of King County operates programs to help local youth complete their education. Specifically, it aims to support over 15,000 young people ages 16-21 in King County, Washington who left school without a diploma or GED, as those individuals face much higher unemployment rates. Through 2020, United Way's goal is to help half of those 15,000 youth attain GEDs, secure internships, and obtain meaningful work, providing mentoring, coaching and career services.
